I heard Whitnall is likely to keep playing in defence so that should not mean we need to trade Fev.

I hope the above post is wrong.
We only had Big Red in defence because we had no-one else of any height or weight didn't we ?
Surely we will not rely on him to prop up our defence in 2006 ?
He was a pitch hitter back there in season 2005 because of our lack of big bodies, if the heirachy think we can win games given the same scenario they are wrong. All the more reason to pursue someone like a Mal Michael.
Whitnall was OK back there, as a stop gap. He is though, too slow and often caught out for height against the big forwards.
Our defence is a must fix priority, followed by the midfield.
