Shultz + Meyer to Power

The trades I'd be looking at as of now:

Meyer to Adelaide for Meesan - I'd do it for a straight swap right now - Wouldn't mind keeping Danny, but this would address a need we have.

Krakouer and 3rd round pick to Port for 2nd round pick.

I'd much prefer to keep Schulz. Has been working hard on his game at Coburg, his work-rate is right up and he's doing a lot more forward pressure stuff. I felt he was unlucky to be dropped again after his last game.

I don't feel we have the depth in KPPs to be able to move Schulz, especially with Hall and Gaspar gone, potentially Moore as well.

Why would we need to trade Meyer when Meeson is coming out of contract and we can pick him up with Pick 1 in the PSD?

Ship off meyer, keep the schulta tho, we will really be struggling for any sort of forwards once richo goes. JR still raw, Hughes, well so much potential, needs to get hungry, and thats bout the extent

How many more chances does Schultz need?

He has been there too long and done nothing.

Give Hughes game time and development.

I hate RFC supporters who still HOPE Schultz will play football.

Lets be a ruthless club with underperforming players, not coaches.

Schultz is rubbish

Keep Schulz. Trade Meyer.

Kingsley will be gone. Richos another year older and Hughes has proved nothing yet that he'll make it.

Sarge will see out his contract next year. If he offers nothing in 08 then punt him.

Meyer at dp12 has been a disaster.

if that was true ashley sampi, tim walsh, harry miller, jordan russell, kepler bradley, and a heap of other sdisappointing first rounders wouldn't be on a list this year.

i don't think we are the only club to grasp onto underperforming first round picks - but i think its because they are worth so much to the clubs - a club would pay a fortune for a first rounder pick.

i agree with you he isn't performing - and should be shopped around, if we can get a decent trade - we should take it. but we shouldn't delist him or anything if that isn't possible - he has shown glimpses

remember that 10goals he kicked against brisbane back in 1985;)

A very very dangerous move to trade a guy like Meyer who has not yet physically matured. It is asking for trouble. He will turn it around with a good preseason or two.

As for Schultz we really don't have the depth to consider trading him especially when you delist Hall, Gasper, Kingsley. Not many talls left. I would love to know how he would perform without Richo in the team.

What age is he going to physically mature at 90?.

Hall's apparently gone under the knife for further hip surgery, so between that and the fact he's been training for weeks prior to the op, I'd suggest he'll still be around next year.

I very much doubt we'll be able to do any deals with Port that either we or they would accept.

So, I understand the way the world works is that if you were a first round draft pick and have "unfulfilled potential", you'll still be worth truckloads at the trade table.
Schulz - fair player at best - doesn't play key role and averages about 6 possessions a game;
Meyer - one of Coburg's finest.
Package them together & voila - 1st round pick.
After Port's recent drafting efforts (the savviest going around), do you really think they'd look at giving up, say Pick 10, for these too?

In that case, I reckon Essendon may get 1st pick from Richmond or Carlton by trading Bradley (Pick 6) & Bolton (Pick 4).
Dogs will likely trade Walsh (Pick 4) & Power (Pick 10) to West Coast for Juddie.

that doesn't mean much - he is probably getting the op's done before he has to leave, so he doesn't have to cover it. the club would still look after him in that regard

i'd be disappointed if we hang onto him for another season.

is there any truth to the rumour that Port would like Kraks? If so it may be a good trade for both parties

It' an easy fit, Nathan at Port, send Andy there too.
Burgoyne 1;
Burgoyne 2;
Rodan;
Pearce;
Ebert;
Gray;
N Krakouer;

Do you think they need Andrew Krakouer??

Reading in todays herald sun the power CEO John James said that with treadra's career fading they are in need of more power forwards, they have westoff, white and wilitts but only westoff has showed us that he can play.

so if a trade could be brokered between us and port, they could get there power forward in shultz who is probably in need of a fresh start and meyer cause he is a hack, to help the deal.

option 1: Shultz + Meyer for 2nd round pick and player(don't know who tho)

option 2: Shultz + Meyer for 1st round pick, (which i think port wouldn't do)

Any thoughts?
Thoughts? No is the first that springs to mind. With 15 clubs to choose from 'lucky' Port seems to figure in about half the trades I've seen on this board. Choco and co. saw something in Rodan that the Tiges didn't. Somehow that turns into every Tiger who potentially will be delisted / traded is heading our way :confused:

Krakouer - doesn't he still have more court? Could be in the clink by trade week. We've got the better one anyway. Plus our smalls are our strength - with Burgoynes x2, Salopek, Pearce, Rodan :D, Cornes x 2, Gray, Boak unless we got offered Hodge, Judd or the ilk we wouldn't trade for a small that I can see.
Shultz - has had plenty of games to show his potential. He's like White for us - just can't seem to take the next step. A direct swap or some 3rd/4th round pick swapping with it might be worth a punt to see if either benefits from the change in scenery.
Meyer - Slightly older then Westhoff and not built much heavier, despite more time in the system. We paid pick 70 odd for Westhoff, who's shown a lot more in a lot less time. There's no way we'd trade a high pick for him.

I like the Tiges, but when you're finishing bottom and haven't had players who've given your side success anytime recently your trade options are generally poor. If a player is not demanding a spot in your side, they aren't going to be at a top 4 side generally.

21 is pretty late to hit puberty it has to be said.

He's a weed. A weed who can't get a kick.

I am not talking about puberty I am talking physically and mentally maturing so he can compete against men. Prob won't happen till he is 23, bout the same age as pettifer.

If you trade Meyer you will get f*&k all for him with the risk that he will become a very good player since he has a lot of talent. Little benefit high risk. Silly move.
