Your kidding me right? This is our next captain, hands down no if's or but's he will be our next captain. Don't get me wrong, if I'm watching a game I might give the old "Bloody kick the ball straight Travy ya barsted" or "WTF was that Daisy?" but thats emotion at the time. Shit, we lost by one point to the team that played in last years Grand Final, some people on these boards really piss me off.

These guys train there arses off, they give everything they can for the footy club and after maybe a performance where someone isn't doing a Gary Ablett, they get treated like shit by our own supporters. If the people on this forum who are bagging our players think they bleed black & white, they're out of their mind.
 
Loki and Muse i know all that and agree 100%, but that is what has been said.

To go with fat, he also got soft and lazy.

Pendles did look bigger, but it wasn't fat, it was all muscle, all upper body, which in his case is a good thing.

I can see Pendles spending more time up forward this year, he almost looked like a KPP at times on Friday night, although as the season goes on he will "thin out" a bit and get fitter, so by about mid season I'd say he'd be back in the midfield full time.

You have to remember he didnt train much before xmas, and he still has a metal rod in his leg, so he will be a bit behind most others.
 
The whole team will look better come rnd1, even then the way this team over the years has taken till round 5-8 to really start to play well.

We are traditionally under MM slow starters, it will be an interesting start to the year fair few hard games off the bat.

Didn't do a thing right on Friday but it is the first game and its a practice match but if he continues to play like that he will be in a lot of trouble. I am not a huge fan of the way he plays i mean he is a decent footballer but not in our best 22 he needs a lot of things to go right for him and doesn't cope well under pressure.

SS is a right footer isn't he? I can't be sure but I think he may have had every kick on his left foot. That may explain the lack of penetration.

If his non preferred are going 40+, I'm satisfied.

He is an absolutely fantastic football player. Easily the best prospect at the club and probably in the league for mine.

Reminds me a lot of how Johnny Greening used to play, and he was the best player I've ever seen. Such a shame.

I am not a fan because he passes it the wrong players and by that i mean players that arnt in a good position and players that are under pressure. Alot of his kicks also fall short i know against the crows in the semi he had a got best on ground but his fist half was pretty shit and only plays good when the team is playing well. I am not saying we should trade him or anything because he is still young and could develop in to a gun but atm i think we have 22 players ahead of him.

Yeah, he really crumbled under the pressure of the Adelaide final last year. :rolleyes:

People need to relax, we lost by a point in an NAB match against a very good side. Clearly some players weren't fully fit or weren't going at 100%, come round 1 we will be fine.

I thought he was scrappy and fumbly against the Saints. But on what I've seen of him thus far that's not typical of him.

His game against Adelaide was great. Close to our best. That said, I'm not convinced that he's gonna be the star some tout him to be.

I am not saying this because of the Sts match. In that adelaide match we had momentum and Adelaide were turning everything over due to the team pressure and he did was in the right places in the right time but when were are going crap Steele doesnt do much that's just my opinion.

Well that is your Opinion and you are allowed to have it but I disagree 100% in the Crows Final he was the Reason why we stayed in the Game and Why we got back into it

Some would argue he was a key reason we gained momentum. He's only a second year player remember, he will be a very good player for many years to come.

Fair enough you're entitled to your opinion, I just read this board and it seems half the team is going to be delisted or traded based on one pre season game. If people must panic they should at least wait until there's something to panic about. ;)
 
I hope he becomes a gun and i never said anything about trading him.

You mention him giving it to the wrong options.. his decision making is probably his greatest strength.

The fact you didn't realise he played well whilst we were being flogged by Adelaide is enough for me to want to see what ever it is you are seeing. I love the shrooms. Do share squire.

I said he had a shit first half. I do realise he had a solid second half but so did the whole team.
