All i have to say is WOW!
Only down side is for me to run it(running a 1gighz comp and a TNT 2) i have to have detail on low but on a good computer(my mates laptop) the detail is GREAT. But the game itself is aws, the best of the SimCities so far, so real, everything inter related, detailed, its just a great game
Anyone else got it/played it/going to get it?

Haha, specs...yes well...

I got the game about a month ago, and to be honest, have probably spent about 1 hour playing it. The lag is absolutely shocking. Once you get around 10,000 sims....it just becomes annoying to play.

I admit I only have Intel Celeron 900MHz, with 256RAM, and a 32meg video card....But that is still more than the minimum requirements.

I would suggest....(to actually be able to build a decent city) you would need at least P4, 2gig+ hard drive, 512MB SDRAM, 64-128MB vid card.....

But I have been reading over a few Simcity4 fansites and some forums.....even people with these specs have had major problems with the speed of the game. 5-10 seconds to zoom in and out....loading all the graphics ect...

Unless you have a top of the range computer, I wouldn't pay the $80 for this game....not just yet anyway.

For me, it is back to SimCity3! At least I can have a city of 4 Million+ that is actually playable....

Oh yeah, minimun specs are: (I think)

Pentium III - 700MHz~
256MB Ram
32MB Vid Card

So if you want to play it, at snails pace....then you can.

Most people on the fansites speak of various ways to speed the game up, mainly shutting down everything else while playing, changing detail settings in the game, switching from hardware to software mode, turning of music, adjusting Virtual Memory...etc...

Tried it all, but unless you have a faster processor with heaps of ram, the game is just slow.

Dont go by the minimum requirements, they stuffed them up bigtime. I now have a city of about 7000 people and it is really not going to work "well" much longer. But i got it for free anyway(mate had it and the crack is available online of course;)) so i dont mind. He has a really top class computer so we are gonna transfer my city over to his comp and play it.

Aws game, but really is made for TOP TOP TOP end computers, so yeah dont buy it if u dont have approx what Stucey said if u want to run it well with a large city.
