What a waste of time that was.

Rightly so too. Disgraceful report.

And the good news hodge gets 2 weeks down to 1 with an early plea!!! Franklin should have been cited too for naling cotchin with an elbow to the back of the head off the ball. Did anyone else see it? Happened in the middle of the ground and cotchin had his back turned. Dirty bloody sniper.

I saw it and saw Cotch have a go back - good to see Cotch defend himself, they also had a niggle a little later on.

I also saw Buddy stick his boot into McGuanes back as McG was on the ground in the third quarter - just a little tap but definetly there. I saw it and so did another guy a few seats down. It was on the southern stand side of the ground in the hawks 50. McQ was facing the members stand. i was in the AFL members and saw it clear as day.

The good thing about Buiddy is that it will all fall down soon. I can see him loising it and getting suspended soon (maybe during the finals). Not to mentione anything off field ;)

The match day report against Richmond's Troy Simmonds for engaging in rough conduct against Hawthorn's Tom Murphy was assessed. It was the view of the panel that Simmonds' action was neither a bump and nor was the contact forceful. No further action was required.

Talk about a drama queen. That umpire both hates us and loves attention. Remember when a Richmond player (Johnson?) got pushed into him, causing the ump to hit the turf, we got fined for that! Now he tries to rub out one of our best players for nothing.

He is the definition of a w***er.

Without prejudice of course PJ:confused::eek:

I only saw what happened on the nights news and thought that there was nothing to it. Its good to see there is still some senceable ruling being made out there.
And this is great for us to know that we have him for the game against the freeo floppers.

That was Tuck, but yeah. With regard to Franklin, there was about 30 seconds where he was just running at our guys (one by one) off the ball trying to rough them up while they were looking toward the play (around the same time as the Hodge vs Deledio incident). The guy is an idiot and a cheap shot artist.

The report happened almost directly in front of me, and I had no idea at the time what the umpire was doing, and still don't. I haven't seen a replay, but that quote a few posts above seems to cover what I originally thought happened - nothing. There was a pack of three or four fighting for the ball, and Simmo pushed one guy front on to get the ball. Because it's football, and that's legal in football. Was surprised a free got payed, then that bald maggot (it was him wasn't it?) who couldn't make a correct decision all day pulled out the book.

the ump would of buried his head in his hands after watching the replay of the incident.

he'll react by letting through some iffy ones next week.

What a waste of time that was.

I will have to admit I was concerned, Ray Hall got 2 weeks a few years back for pushing over one of the Cloke girls so anything was possible.

That knob umpire was the same one that pulled Schulz back the 50 M wasn't he?
Look... Jay may have taken 1.9 steps back rather than the 2 steps back that the fruitcake was yelling out but FFS!

Happens about a million times each game I reckon.
Player takes a grab & the guy on the mark doesn't stand the spot but drifts infield, apparently along the same line, to limit the opportunity for a play on.

I have no idea how the whistle munchers can evaluate if they guy on the mark maintains the right distance or not but whenever we do it, I panic about a possible 50M penalty on the way!
