For me id chuck him in the goal sqaure and play FF, hes better on the lead rather then the contested grab, play richo at CHF, richo is a better kick from futher out and he wouldnt get double teamed as much at CHF, Simmonds to be the leading FF and stafford to be the marking FF, basicly its playing the 2 big blokes out of the Sqaure, with simmonds lead, stafford to take the contested stuff. Simmonds isnt working at CHF and is a weakness, the ball constantly gets spilled and cleared from there.

From a freo supporter. You can play Simmonds anywhere in the forward line and the ball will be spilled. His best position is in the ruck. the longer he's out of that position the worse he's gonna look when you put him back there.

Thats his best position by far.

Personally I like him in the ruck or as the '3rd' forward

Simmonds > Sanderlands

Longmuir > Simmonds

But ahh who cares really. You got a tall, we got a small in the trade. Something both clubs needed at the time. Win win i say. Heath Black has been great for us this year. And despites Simmonds average start to the year is a good player.

A comment on Richo - you can play him at FF, you can play him in the Carey-esque CHF-FF position but IMO you cannot play him at true CHF. Richo is not a good kick from 65 or 70 metres out. He is cannot drill a ball to a lead, his drop punts tend to hang, unless Simmonds and Stafford are right on song, then you are in for a long day.

I think Plough should make another rule in addition to Richo not playing on inside 50, and that is do not kick to pack contests if he is outside 50.

Dont be silly. Simmo is still adjusting to the richmond game plan and playing with richmond players. He will come good mark my words.

I hope so, we have made a massive investement in him for precious little to date..In my mind shane morrison would have produced no less in the time afforded to simmo ..he needs to lift immediateyl to warrant his spot...

Geez how would terrys triangle look if the third bloke could take an overhead mark!

We lost Ottens (for 2 kids) and Stafford will retire at the end of the season.

As much as you may love or hate Knobel and Simmonds fact is we needed them.

I actually believe that Knobel is proving worth a PSD we invested in him...would have no probs in extending a contract with him...

Why not try him as a tall defender, may be useful against bigger forwards such as Gherig,Hall or Ottens?

We aren't paying him much, not by the standards of big blokes. The big investment is that he has a 5 year deal, but with Stafford to retire soon, no good young talls other than Schulz, he was always going to get 5 years. Doesn't matter if it was a 2 year deal, followed by a 3 year deal, he was always going to get 5 years. With player salaries going like they are, 250k in 4-5 years will be a bargain.

Ruck for Coburg.

Good call he was pathetic on sunday night I think him,Tivendale and lazy slow arsed Joel Bowden could all have a run in the coburg side

YOU are the one with no idea if you consider Bowden and tivendale to be justified in the chances they keep getting. Joel Bowdens defensive side of his game is simply deplorable he constantly gives his opponent far to much space and then does these half arsed tackles that aren't worth ******** he was dragged sun nite for it. he has natural ability and is a lovely kick but only when he is 10 metres in the clear. greg tivendale is simply to slow to get boot to ball.
