Simon Buckley??

Just wondering if you guys/gals can ghive me some feedback of Simon Buckley.

Good or bad.

I have only seen him play a few times. A recall a QB game a few years ago and he got about 25/30 possies off a half back flank.

Is he quick? Skills?? Accountability?? Decison making??

Understand his durability is a major question mark but just looking for an idea of what his old supporters thought of him.

I was pretty disappointed when he was delisted.. really liked the bloke.
Bucky loves to tuck the ball under his arm and take them on, he has a penetrating kick on him but can occasionally lack accuracy.

Can also run himself into trouble a little.. but he has a massive upside and has confidence to burn... which is always good.

This year was very important for Simon Buckley and unfortunately his body didn't hold up and had groin/op problems. We need to put games into other kids and unf 50/50 players like Buckley gets the cut.

He is lightning fast and strong. Carries the lines very well and hard to tackle but he does run into traffic and into trouble a bit ala Andrew Raines.
Despite the general consensus, he is a beautiful kick. The problem is his decision making.
Kicking to a 2 on 1 which favours the oppostion isn't faulty skills. Handpassing to a stationery team mate when he's got a tagger next to him isn't faulty skills. Just terrible decision making.

He isn't accountable. Loses his direct opponent very easily. If he;s over OP, don't see durability as a problem.

He's got heaps of confidence, as elias said, and will take on every player in the opposition if he has to. Think of Shannon Cox but with a bit more determination.

He can kick the pill a long way, but the problem is it normally hits an opposition target.

When he was playing with us, he would break the lines, run into an opposition player, and then run back with it. That was a common tend in his game. Suffice to say, his decision making is dubious at times.

However, I think he'll complement your team well, especially when you have a number of players who can cover his mistakes and redress any potential problem that he may find himself in. When he was playing with us, we had too many players who were poor by foot so we lacked balance with him there.

I hope he makes it as a player.

Not that it particularly matters (I'm just curious), but is Simon Buckley Indigenous by any chance? Just going on appearance, he obviously wouldn't be 100% Indigenous, but from some photos I've seen (such as the one I've posted below), he does have a slight Aboriginal appearance.

No, he is just rather tanned. Unless he has Indigenous grand parents. IIRC this pic was just taken mid summer, so his naturally olive skin was further darkened. You guys have a potential game breaker, if he can hit a target! Sorry to see him go.

Needs to get his body back onside first. He was down right horrible for Casey when he came back at the end of this year, which wasn't exactly a surprise but still it is what happened.

i think its his will to only run hard one way that is his biggest down side
