Mackie took his job after the trade period last year. They just made up another job for Lloyd most likely knowing he was already gone but he could stick around and help Mackie for 6 months. Might not be a replacement.

I don't think he's rated in the AFL industry. Scotty likes him so they made up a job for him at the Cats at the start of the year.

If even North Melbourne doesn't want you, that's not a great look.

I think that's maybe a bit unfair - I can see a club baulking at appointing him CEO just because of the lack of commercial experience rather than as any negative comment on his own ability.

"I don't think he's rated...". Wow that's a big call and probably a gross generalisation. Perhaps you have friends in high places in the AFL but even then it would be tactless to say what you said. I have always been impressed with him and he has impeccible communication skills. I just saw the interview with Mark Blicavs and Chris Scott who spoke highly of him as a professional and a friend. I'd be inclined to believe them.

I met Simon for the first time a few weeks ago. He was very friendly. He was involved with the cats during a very successful period and I wish him well for the future.

We were talking about the Tasmanian team and I mentioned that they might target Scotty. I then suggested that Simon may consider a job down south. He smiled politely in a way that seemed like he may have through about it already.
