What happened to him?
I saw some 1993 footage and he aways got the ball and ran it up to Modra so what happened to him after that?

In the game where we came back from 40 points down to beat the Hawks, he was sensational. Triger was an excellent player for us.

McLeod kicked the winning goal with a minute left. Have it on name a game. Worth it for the after game celebrations of A Jarman.:D

Trigger currently coaches Adelaide University but is favourite for the Magpies job as mentioned.

Make that the sacked coach of Uni;)
Really? They didn't have a too bad of a season, making the finals, suprising.... Looked really passionate when I watched the A's one day, definetley looks to know how to coach.:thumbsu:

Uni are really struggling with the fact that after 130 years they're now a Division 2 football club. They're not quite rearranging the deck chairs on the Titanic as they're not sinking, but are rearranging the carseat covers on a car that doesn't have wheels.

Yes the classic analogy is better than mine.

I play for Adelaide Uni and I would be surprised if he landed the Magpies job. He did get sacked from the Blacks, sure we have high expectations, but we have some good players and he didn't do enough. Seemed a nice enough guy, but his people skills probably weren't good enough.

Adelaide Uni should be doing better than they are, making the finals is not enough!

One of those players who always seemed to find acres of space. If they'd kept the running bounces stat back then he would have led the league by a mile.

Would get plenty of it and run the lines brilliantly... trouble was that these runs were always followed by a gentle, 35 metre, floating hospital ball downfield.

He hasn't had much of a role down at the Crows since finishing, though I believe he has done some kicking coaching with Scott Stevens.

Yeh was a good player, could have been far better with a decent kick haha

far better? do you have any idea how good he actually was?

runner up twice in the magarey whilst still in his teens.

It'd be interesting to see whether he'd survive in today's game. Leg speed would be an advantage, but the up-and-under kicking belongs to a different time.

Be realistic, the AFL is a different level to SANFL. He was a good player but not a great player, he didn't have the skills to be a great player at AFL level.

1. this was before the crows joined the AFL, so the sanfl dilution was not nearly so pronounced - as evidenced by guys like David Marshall. look it up.
2. didn't have the skills? go have a look around at the skills of guys like Dane Swan.

i don't get the feeling you know anything at all about him as a player.

I get the feeling your love of the Crows and Trigger are making your forget that while he was a good handy player, he was no star. You also seem to believe that he was hopeless. He was a good player but don't get carried away reminising and thinking that he was better than he actually was...

1. I understand the dilution wasn't as pronounced, but there is still a huge gap between SANFL and AFL. It is also one thing being an SANFL star, its another translating it into AFL...Brett Ebert.

2. Dane Swan has got good skills, he has the ability to reliability to hit up that 20-30m pass. Don't try and compare the skills of the player. Tregenza was let down by his skills its just simple fact, which I'm sure he admits.

Really, you might know my mate then..... Anyway, yer I could see got a little fired up more than he should on the sidelines every now and then, can't discount his passion.;) Thought I'd also add you guys were robbed against PHOS! Does he admit his skills wernt the best when he played?

how much did you see him play as opposed to the opinions of others?

I am not even sure you were born when Trigger ran around in the SANFL.

you "understand", and yet you cite the example of Brett Ebert (ignoring the relevant Marshall example) that sure seems to date you as someone who wouldn't have seen much (if anything) of tregenza first hand.

Ebert won the magarey in 2003, quite some time after 1989 & 1990 (pre-afl) which were the examples cited.

Dane Swan does not have good skills, and I think rather than imply tregenza couldn't a target for 20 -30m out, you'd be better off talking about players you have actually seen play.

watching your former coach, at uni training doesn't count. ;)

Well I didnt get a crack with A grade this year, so didn't have heaps to do with him as a person, but he could take a joke about it pretty well, would laugh. He always seemed a fairly quiet bloke but he had cause to be fired up this year. Yeh PHOS total robbed, epic change of wind haha.

Who is your mate?
