 Put your hand up big fella! I know there a lots of Blues fans who would be honoured for you to captain the club! Think he did a great job as captain, and shouldn't be ashamed about being overlooked for Chris Judd. I'd rather him captain than Stevo

Thanks for that. Only positives coming out of our club nowdays. Will be good to see Hadley next week.

Great news about Hadley.

Also they must really rate Jamison down there. I'm not basing this on Setanta missing the game (because he did have a niggle) but I just get the feeling that Jamison may have overtaken him in the coaches mind in terms of the FB position.

Wonder when any AFL mid last played a full game ?

Nice one. He's had 2 recos is that right? And played in a premiership in his 4th game. Can't have had much football for quite a while. You happy with that proposition?

Well why didn't you bloody say so?

Bcoz there was so much discussion here on BF after the trade with Brisbane supporters about his performance last year and where he was at that I sort of considered it as "common Knowledge"

They said he came into the team after a few rounds.
His best effort was 24 possies.
He had lost pace and was not very damaging, often retreating backwards before dishing off by hand.
His higher posession games were all losses for the Lions.
He was moved from the midfield to a HBF before being dropped with 6-8 games to go.
At the end of the season they had their best form and their midfield looked better without him.
They were still upset to see him leave and thought he might be better 2nd year after coming back from the recos

And that was against Essendon IIRC. He will most certainly be a handy acquisition this year.

Thanks for that. You should never presume, it makes an ass out of ..............no wait..................

So we can hopefully expect to benefit from his second comeback year. :thumbsu:

I wish I shared your confidence.
For me it is very much a wait and see attitude.
If he cant regain some of the pace he lost he may very well struggle.
Having a 24 possesion game in the midfield dosnt even mean that you necessarily beat your direct opponent on the day.

True, but if it's still up on the AFL website, see if you can see the highlights of the Lions vs Us shootout at the dome from round (?) 5 last year. It was put up as one of the top 10 games of the year or something like that.

He features in a number of passages of very fine play for the lions, hitting targets off both feet and under pressure.

He will take another year to get full speed and fitness back, but he'll be a good pick up IMO.

Same goes for Pfieffer......very impressed for a young guy..........we've done well.:thumbsu:

i cant access bigpond do havent seen the footage.
I hope youre right mate......but I just dont find myself overly confident, its hard to predict how players will go after major knee injuries

I watched a replay of that whole Essendon game when I heard that we got him. He played reasonably well and usually hit targets, but I didn't feel that he was particularly damaging for Brisbane. Hopefully things will change this year :)

To be honest I haven't seen that much of him.

All I know is:
  1. He cost us very little in a weak draft
  2. Leigh was not very pleased to lose him
What expectations do you have of pick 52?

Exactly.

At the end of the day, he's experienced but still pretty young and has enjoyed some success.

Yeah, he's coming back from some injuries, but at the end of the day, I'd rather take a gamble wioth him at 52, particularly when we seem to have been able to pick up some exciting youngsters anyway

I remember picking up another guy who was coming back from some seriuos knee injuries (Dean Rice) if Hadley can be anything like him i'll be over the moon.
