Shouldnt have been surprised by anything Bart does on Derby Day but honestly,this finished it off like a serious Gp horse.
His Derby effort in Qld was excellent but he'd never shown this dash before

Where does he sit now for Tuesday?

It's into something like $11 now.
Wouldn't go near it at those odds, not saying it's not a chance, but hard to tell if it was a great run or just got lucky.

Mackinnon winners into the MC is a tried & true guide,especially from Bart.
Hard to argue there was any fluke about it.

I guess the trip is the concern,even Bart says his best trip is 2000m

i was actually following this horse earlier in its preperation when it was unlucky a few times. eventually kept running out of excuses for it and it had seemed to have dropped off.

That was a big surprise though considering really it had done nothing and it was up against a great field. dont think it will run the two mile though. i know its into $11 but what would it be if it was not trained by bart?

say it was trained by hayes or freedman then it would be $31. and if it was anyone else probably at least $41.

It's previous 3 starts have been 12th,10th and 15th so to come out and win like that is amazing. Totally out of the box that one but can he do it again on Tuesday? I would say no it doesn't have the class but Melbourne Cups have been won by plenty of average horses in the past with light weight so he's in with a chance.

i rate Sirmione a reasonable chance, but surely 3200 is just a tad too far.

It's Bart, you can't rule him out. We don't know about the trip, but there are many in the same boat. A wet track will help him too.
