Time for Julius Hodge to do his thang?

Speculation will naturally turn to the aforementioned Hodge as a possible replacement, after the exciting American’s latest attempt to make it in the NBA hit a roadblock when he was cut prior to the season. Hodge’s multi-faceted game would certainly be a perfect addition to the 36ers team, but it remains to be seen whether the superstar is within range of what the 36ers have to offer in terms of salary.

Apparently he was asking $800kAUD

Apparently he was asking $800kAUD

It was only a matter of time after he only played like 7 or 8 mins in the second half Wednesday night against the Dragons.

Doubt that – Julius Hodge recommended Mark Tyndale come out to Australia and play for the 36ers because he had such a good time, not sure how he would feel about replacing a good friend.

800 k – he would earn that and much more in Europe so if he is worth it, ask for it. He won’t get it in Australia, well maybe with the salary cheating Melbourne Tiger he would.

I should have said...."apparently he was asking for $800k ROFL"

Well, there ya go

HoopsHype.com blogger Julius Hodge is heading back to Australia after failing to get a roster spot with the New Jersey Nets in training camp, agent Cervando Tejeda told HoopsHype.com.

Hodge is returning to the Adelaide 36ers of the NBL, where he averaged 24.6 ppg, 9.1 rpg and 5.9 apg last season. The team features former NBA player Luke Schenscher.

Allegedly Phil Smyth said on 5AA this afternoon that Julius Hodge will be Australia tomorrow but until i read a press release from the Sixer, it’s still just a dream.

Co-sign.

The upside is that if we miss out on Hodge, Luke Jackson or David Noel are on the way over... both of whom would be very high calibre NBL players.

It's official! Hodge is back.

The Adelaide 36ers have confirmed last year’s star Julius Hodge as the replacement import for Mark Tyndale.

Hodge played an outstanding 12 games for the 36ers last season averaging 24.6 points, 9.1 rebounds and 5.9 assists and claiming NBL Player of the Week honours on three occasions.

Adelaide will fly Hodge in from New York on Monday and hope to have appropriate paperwork completed so he can suit up for next Friday’s away game against the Sydney Spirit.

Adelaide are desperate for some real scoring power after a spate of injuries has robbed coach Scott Ninnis of some of his most important players.

Hodge is sure to be a fan favourite and will be looking to get the 36ers back in the finals race.

He genuinely looks excited to be back, and not just the photos he apparently loved Adelaide from all reports and his wife did too.

Hopefully he sticks around longer than a half a season.
