you also get to pick a jockey for your stable!! ive got brad rawiller, because he is one of the best in australia, but its probably silly picking him, because he wont get a stack of good rides...unlike williams, oliver, boss, brown, shinn etc.

i was thinking of getting jeff lloyd..geez hes doing well in sydney

similar to super stable for last years spring carnival but this one is for the sydney autumn carnival!!

it doesnt have a league, its just called a watch list!! the code is 321493...feel free to join everyone!!

cheers champ played that last year + was good fun :thumbsu:

1. She's Meaner $02. Portillo $03. Forensics $04. Viatorian $05. Magnus $06. Devil Moon $07. Niconero $08. Red Lord $09. County Tyrone $010. Cefalu $011. OLIVER, Damien $0

Olly has 2nice rides today so went with him, Im warming to She's Meaner and Portillo is a very nice cheap option. Forensics is going good and Viatorian hasnt been far behind.
In the league box I posted that I wanted to trade for Magnus, just realised I had him LOL:D forget when I got him! Devil Moon and Niconero are sure to run some places imo while Cefalu is a very cheap buy as is my other Syd Cup contenders Red Lord and County Tyrone.

I'm in but will get a big fat zero week one - as none of my chaff bandits and jockey were going around in the nominated races. Still I have taken a long term view, given the limited nature of trades etc, that over the life of the competition I'll do OK.

Coming from a DreamTeam background, the strategy is quite different - having a duck egg one week isn't such a bad thing - anyway that's what I keep telling myself. Given the prizemoney structure of the races I guess you've got to get your stable to:
  • peak for the Slipper, Derby and Doncaster (a minor placing here is worth as much as winning other races)
  • be a bit more judicious in your trading to coincide with the above
  • pick a gender balanced stable given the number of "mares" only races
  • pick horses that can endure a long campaign (middle distance/stayers/derby types)
  • hope your jockey doesn't get suspended.
I guess I'm telling everyone what they already know. Time will tell whether starting off with a zero week one is a disaster or not.

Improvements in the game: Should be able to select a trainer as per the jockey scenario.

Good luck guys.
