Before the season started i like many didnt rate this guy.

AFter watching his preseason and round 1- the guy is a young Rooke.

Tough as nails in the Bomber Thomposon mould of cat.

I cant see the cats not promoting him and im actually happy they will. Hope he plays whole season.

Makes the cats a pretty physcially tough team. (Rooke, Slade, Mooney, Scarlett)

PS how good was Mooney and Voss clash. Slightly to Mooney but both players were unbelievable.

I think a lot of people on this site owe Slade an apology, and i am one of them. Many wanted him gone for good last season. But he has proven many wrong. Good on him, i thoiught he was great on Saturday.

It's so good to finally hear other people talking and starting threads about Will other than me. LOL I have been a Sladey fan pretty much since he started playing and I was lucky enough to see him play in the VFL premiership side back in 2002 or when ever it was.

At a family gathering the other day some of my rellies started talking about Slade and saying that APPARENTLY his dad put a bit of pressure on him to play footy but he didn't really want to. He prefered snowboarding during the winter months... but then he came to his senses and decided to play footy. :D They were saying that his family owns the Slades Soft Drinks company. I never realised that hahaha. Theres some chit-chat for yah. lol

Anyway getting back to footy... I SOOOOOooooooooooo hope that he can play all 6-7 games at the start of this season and maybe even play throughout the year!!! That would be so awesome! His such a courages player and like 'Rosella' said "He's playing like he has nothing to lose". His obviously worked so hard to get his body back and ready to play hard and tough footy. IMO he deserves as many games as he can possibly get! It would be a shame if he missed out playing in the SNR's but then again thats what happens when your team has an awesome list of fit players.

LOVE YOU SLADEY! GO CATS! :):thumbsu::p:cool::D

So Slade is right to play seniors as he was upgraded to nominated rookie but when Batch is taken off the long term injury list does he replace Wil???

From what Slade said (``I'm just grateful to be a chance to be out there for seven weeks this year'') that sounds like it is the case. He has done everything right so far this year (I can't see anything wrong with a forearm to the head of a few Crows players) so if he continues to play well it would be a shame to have to play him at VFL level but that's the way the Rookie crumbles. (I know that was bad but I didn't force anyone to read it).

Oh and by the way, now that Slade is back in full time training, has anyone else noticed that Healy has been unsighted on this forum?

Bizzare coincidence or is there something more sinister going on???????????????

I must admit, I've never seen them together in the same room before.

Will goes back to just the normal Rookie status when Batchelor returns.

Did Healy disappear around the same time as Phat ? ;)

That's a shame, I haven't seen much of Batchelor to really say this, but I really like what I've seen of Will and wish he was our nominated rookie. He's been great. I was a doubter, but I'm converted. Go Will.
