Sleeping

Anyone but me wake up at the same time almost every single day. Without fail I wake up at either 7:40 or 7:50 every day. Went to bed at 4AM last night and still woke up at bloody 7:40 :thumbsd:

I get up at 5.50am each weekday. Generally I will wake up at 5.49am just before the alarm goes off. I hate the sound of the alarm, so I think my brain is programmed so that I can turn it off just in time.

Yet most weekends I'll wake up at maybe 6.30am or 7.00am.....weird

I'll have a bad night of sleep (one or two hours) about two or three times a month. I'm very impatient, which doesn't help. I'll also tend to have have more trouble going to sleep if there's something important on the next day, which I have to wake up for. Facing away from the alarm clock helps, so whenever I open my eyes I can't see the time.

Watching TV won't help. Most times I'll get tired from watching it, then as soon as I turn it off I'm wide awake again.

don't watch tv. It's bad news. The constant light sound and images stimulate the brain, whether your eyes are open or shut. It's the dumbest thing you can do.

No TV for at least an hour before sleep. Routine - go to bed and get up at the same time each and every night. Exercise an hour before you sleep. Drink tea or other warm bevarages.

These are the best natural ways to get to sleep.

Good advice.

If you're having problems sleeping you might want to look into cutting out all caffine, this includes tea and caffinated softdrinks. Don't even have it early in the day.

As lance said, get up the same time every morning, even on weekends. I wake up 6.30 - 7.15 am every day including weekends, this makes me very tired at night and it's easy to fall asleep.

good luck matey:thumbsu:
ps. you want to avoid getting into the habbit of popping sleeping pills to sleep, they can be addictive and create problems.

I don't use an alarm.

Our bodies are the most amazing machinery on this planet and we can rely on our body alarms to wake up. Which is EXACTLY what you're doing by waking up 1 minute before your alarm goes off.

It's funny if i set my alarm to wake up then i struggle to wake up, i'll keep pressing snooze. However when i'm left to rely on my body clock i wake up without a problem.

I'm a shocking sleeper. I haven't slept well even as a kid. I've got a 6mth old who we've just been to the sleep doctor here in Adelaide.

He said something very interesting, that when you're overtired you don't sleep. You go through what they call "cues" before you doze off.

Are the lights off, are the doors locked, am I warm enough etc, etc. Everyone subconciously has them. I often thought that it's better if I go to bed later because I'm more tired. Wrong. The Dr said "how do you go driving a car if you're overtired". Badly normally.

So the lesson is, go to bed when you're tired, not try to hold out till your normal bed time.

We'd been leaving our bubs up till 9 - 9.30 because she wasn't sleeping through. Now we're putting her to bed at 7 and she's sleeping through. Weird, but true.

Worst 3 nights of my life. Not one sleepless night, not two, but three in a row. Driving me mental. Well I've had small insignificant amounts of sleep, maybe 8 hours in total the last 76hours. Anyone else had experiences like this?

I hear ya.. The longest I've been is 2 nights in a row with no sleep. I find it more difficult to sleep if I'm not in my own bed.

Another time was flying from Melbourne to Detroit (which had an 8 hour stop over in LA). Did not get any sleep the night before I was due to fly out, plus no sleep on the plane. I was in a SHOCKING state by the time I touched down in Detroit, about 12am.

I been trying to sleep without pills, kinda working but waking up very tired. So I got Camomile tea which is suppose to help you relax. Drinking it now. Tastes like shit.

This stuff is the same colour as piss. I wouldn't be surprised if that's what it is. Twinings have managed to powder urine, put it in a tea bag and sell it off. This shit makes me wanna puke.
