G'day people

I'm having a little trouble with my mouse. When i'm browsing the net in Internet Explorer, and i move my pointer to the taskbar to right click and use the 'show desktop option' my mouse is horribly slow to react and bring up the little menu.

This used not to happen. I have tried defragging my PC (thought there might be some systematic issue with it) and running scadisk etc... But to no avail. I also thought it was something to do with my ram (or a lack of since i'm only running 256 DDR), so i downloaded a 'rambooster' (TweakXP) and tried freeing up some memory, but that has had no effect either.

Any suggestions? Thanks.

Alt+ctrl+del and check the processes tab. If you are doing nothing on your computer then there should be no process taking major cpu time. If there is something in the list thats hogging the cpu then you probably have a virus. Ive had a virus which continually runs a program taking most of the CPU time, and it was difficult to get rid of. So i would suggest either a reformat if you are keen or update your virus scanner and run that to check to see if any problems are detected...

Go to the control panel & click on "Mouse".

Check to see it the sensitivity is on high.

If that doesn't work, pop the ball out & clean out the gunk.

Or buy a new one.

Consider reformatting.

When my memory was chocca's last year my PC stopped to a walk. It turned out that IE 6 had sucked 90% of the lif out of that old PC.
