Shaun McKernan kicked 5 goals for the Panthers in their WIN over WWT this afternoon. SANFL news has no more details, was anyone there?

Salter is a going to be a star. A real hardnut too. :(

Mckernan to come in and and play on a wing.

Salter? Serviceable to good at AFL level I'd say. Certainly hitting the point (23 years old or so now) where as a mature-bodied KPP there isn't much else for him to learn at SANFL level.

It's very interesting to see Salter can't get ito the Port team... it's almost like he and Walker suffer from Scott Hodges syndrome or something. Dominate SANFL... but at AFL level are left a little wanting.

Moreover... I am hopeful it's just the fact they are still kids yet to find their feet.

Go the SMACK ATTACK... brings home the fact that there is still a lot of promise in our young brigade. Henderson, Davis, Smack, Otten, Sloane, Cook, Walker, Jaensch, Young have all showed some good things. I think Gunston might be the best of them when he get's his puberty on!

Annoying seeing Salter kick 7 in the same game but as someone else mentioned he is a bit older than McKernan. Would love to see him get rewarded for an effort like that with a spot back in the side. I realise one decent performance in the 2's doesn't mean he will do the same in the AFL but these guys need to know their good games won't go un-noticed. Especially with the Crows travelling how they are at the moment.

Delighted to hear it :thumbsu: As mentioned earlier, he's struggled a bit, even allowing Griffin to leapfrog him on the emergency list last week which was disappointing :o

I would love McKernan to come in and play the second ruck role, allowing Tippett to stay at FF, and then McKernan could take Tippett's spot up forward when Tippett has a rest on the bench. The sooner we get an extra ruck back in our side, the better.

Salter is 23, had the highest goals per game last year in the SANFL, kicked 18 goals in 4 games so far. And Crows supporters are filthy over a 20 yo Walker (HB for yesterday big fella) being softly introduced to the AFL.

I was at the game (delighted South supporter :thumbsu:). Shaun played his best game for the club, no doubt about that. After an average month at CHB, Fuller threw him forward with great results. Would have been given a kick up the backside during the week I reckon.

Would have had close to 20 touches, was terrific both in the air and at ground level, and a couple of his goals in particular were first class. He flew for the mark on one occasion, brought the ball to ground, and in a pack of half dozen managed to brush off a couple of tackles and snap one over his shoulder from about 30 out. Also took a hanger with about 5 minutes to go to put us a couple of goals up and give us breathing room.

His ruck-work was also worth noting, working very well with Cocky to give us a dominance from the stoppages.

I doubt we'll have him next week..

Great to hear Shaun living up to his potential ,does anyone know how Luke Thompson went? Did he play if so what position?

Thanks
