One glaring defiency I believe we have is we don't have a genuine small crumbing forward who can apply forward pressure and manufacture goals from no where - I would love Eddie Betts - I think he is 26 so he probably fits our premiership age profile however I believe he is about to resign at Carlton.

Can anyone think of any other potential trade/free agency targets?

P.s Clearly I love Jake King but I see him more as backup until we can bring in some real class

I think it's class we need, whether they play as a small forward or as a resting midfielder, it doesn't matter.

It's hard to find defensive intensity and class in the one player, so I'm leaning towards drafting more midfielders so guys like Cotchin can rove the packs in the F50.

Moons was just talking about Karmichael Hunt not being able to get a game in the now growing GCS midfield. What about putting him at Jacks feet and saying see ball get ball. He could be a very scary prospect for a back pocket with his core strength and ability to tackle.

Unlike button.

If we're not willing to invest in a high pick talent through the draft or trade we'll be left with guys who are adequate but not match winners.

Core strength and tackling is a benchmark for AFL players. Without that, and without much else in attributes, you're dropped.

I don't think McDonough would be a great crumbing type forward. Seems a very similar player to Morton in that he likes to lead, and is a marking type forward.

There is one guy on our list, who I think would develop into a nice little crumbing type forward. Matt White. Has pretty good skills, clean hands when picking the ball up off the deck, VERY quick, anda dead eye in front of goal when on the run. Think he could be a great roving forward.

Have not had one since Krakdaddy was weaving his magic in the number 27. Without meaning to be racist at all (I know some people take it the wrong way), I think we either need to draft or trade for an aboriginal small forward. Those guys just have that 6th sense about where the ball is going to land and are first to react. So instinctive. Agree with the OP, exactly what we are missing, and something that would ignite our team during games. Whether that be going hard at a Jeff Garlett or Lewis Jetta type, or drafting Dayle Garlett or another one coming through the ranks this year I'm not too sure. What I am sure of is we need one from somewhere desperately.

Willie Rioli is one I would look at.

Leroy Jetta wants a trade and has been averaging 25 in the VFL.

Is his non-selection a sign of bad character or they can't fit him in? I hate his diving etc but purely on-field he's exactly what we need.

Wouldn't want him - would rather take a punt on an unproven state league player or draftee. He's a known quantity at AFL level - if he isn't good enough for them, he's not good enough for us

Matthew Stokes is a free agent and having a career-best year in the midfield. I really don't want him to leave, but he still hasn't signed.

He is 28, but I think he's definitely still got three or four years left. He's a pretty durable player. Might be the type of player Richmond go after as they press for the top four?

He's genuine quality, and would be a good fit for the Tigers....but what would we be willing to give up? He would come with a hefty price tag.

He's a free agent, so as long as he agrees to a contract, he's yours.

As I said, I really hope he stays, but it's always worrying when they're still unsigned towards the end of the year. we've got a couple of promising young small forwards, so maybe that has something to do with it.

Do you think there would be much demand for him from other clubs? 28 is getting on a bit, and that could work in our favour. Personally I think he would be worth going after. An upgrade on King/Nahas.
