As Joel Smith set himself last night to join the exodus at Hawthorn, an 11th-hour bid from the Hawks for Lance Whitnall arose that could offset some of the experience lost at Glenferrie.

If we get Whitnall, it is defintly the end of sanity @ the Hawthorn Football. It would be the "clincher" for us, we would need to say goodbye to that football department as we know it. The only hope for us fans is that we are starting to rebuild, and Lance isnt rebuilding. I would rathertake my chance with a second round young prospect than a mid 20 unfit, inconsistent forward. Praying that we dont get him...
