They just had the story on 7 news. Apparently you can't notice the colour (either red or green) in the daytime. It just appears amber.

Waste of money.

Instead of spending 100k raise 100k in revenue from J walkers who can't be bothered looking up to see if the man is red or green.

Or give me $50 and I'll paint "watch were you're going, dumbass" on the ground where they propose to put the signs.

Not independent research but maybe an indication that there is a problem with young mums and their children.

It's definitely something that's brought up in recent 'New Parent' style books: that even when you think your babies and toddlers are safe and happy amusing themselves with whatever they're doing, they will instinctively look over to their parents frequently. And if you're sitting there on your phone during that time and ignoring them (and everyone else), it supposedly can stunt their social development.
