Will be interesting to see how much longer Malouf lasts, as it appeared that Smorgon was hit greatest ally.
I'd say Malouf will be gone shortly. Wasn't his main role to work with the council to get the stage 1 redevelopment approved? With Smorgon gone and the redevelopment approved I don't see any reason for him to be retained. He's done a poor job running the club and the new board will want to start anew.

As for Smorgon I appreciate the effort he's put in but he lacked the skills required to run a footy club. The club will be better off IMO.

Marcus Rose was not the leak. You know full well who was responsible for the leaks in recent months, thank goodness that person was dumped.

FWIW, Smorgon has already put in more money than we will ever see come from the personal funds of Suss, Clarke & Littman. Perhaps Smorgon was not the man for the presidency but his continued presence on the board would have been an asset in the coming years as we continue to try to erase our debt & make our club strong both financially & on the field.

Marcus Rose was the leak... And he copped it in the neck by going to the media again...

KARMA!:thumbsu:

Good CEO's cost heaps, so we might be stuck with Malouf for a while, because of our poor financial position, he might he might be our only option?

thats why we are in a poor financial position because of Malouf...

Dead man walking... the only thing he has going for himself is something in his contract about a 6 month pay out.. but he is dead!!!...

I wouldn't argue with her denial of being a leaker herself, but I have no doubt that people associated with her were providing a steady flow of information to those that were looking for a cheap headline without having to leave the comfort of the The Age offices. Another one of the sources of information left the club a couple of months ago & I think you will find there is one left on the board. The problem with the information that was coming from the Diggins camp was how vindictive it was & how it always seemed to coincide with the publishing of a Carlton good news story.

Diggins dug her own grave & managed to bury Smorgon with her, but ultimately the Unity ticket has still ended up with the numbers on the board therefore making this whole nasty affair nothing more than an exercise in chest beating, resulting in the demise of two of the loudest combatants.

Bananas!!!

so Diggins went to the Age and spoke about the vote of no confidence against her and Valmorbida for wanting to see the Watts report did she???

Some people are just plain dumb......:thumbsu:

Rose was the leak and Malouf leaked as well....

These two were the primary sources of leaks from within...

Why dont you go back through the articles and tell us which leaks Diggins made exactly???;)

You're not on TC now. This sort of thing isn't appreciated.

As for the issue, I don't know that either party can provide concrete evidence of leaks from Rose or Diggins, so there isn't a lot of point to it all.

Are they? Never mind, we can work around them.

But, on the other hand, Carlton might be well served paying the extra $$$ to get a good CEO on board, just so we can get some more talent into the club off the ground.

Have a look what Rose has done at the Bulldogs, and Cook has done at Geelong. We need a change in this role, and Malouf would be on borrowed time IMHO.

I totall agree with you HBF, like the saying goes "pay peanuts get monkeys"...

Well I wish him the best. I don't think he ever recovered from over seeing the Pagan - Mitchell fiasco. They guy would have put in countless hours with the best intentions despite what I think of his performance.
I now hope some positives start to come and we start a bit of positive momentum heading into the season. The players and coaches deserve a positive lead up without distractions.
It will take time I'm sure for the board to come together and operate cohesively. I think they will though.
I hope they respect the coaches players and supporters enough to do it quietley and professionally, they may just find that this may work a little better than day time soap we have witnessed over the last months. One I never want to see again.
Lets hope anyway. I'm feeling reasonably positive.

Greg Lee IMO is the choice for President on the current board, although I would much rather recruit someone from outside the current board. It will be very interesting to see if the Presidential Candidate on the Delutis ticket comes forward, or if Delutis puts himself up. This maybe something for Blue Thunder to investigate further, the plan that Delutis put together was supposed to be backed by CFC Power Brokers and endorsed by the AFL.

The president will be chosen from the current board. The only way another person could take on the presidency would be to draft them on to the board & given the outcry at Smorgon's decision to expand the board to 12 members, I can't really see the board being expanded again. De Lutis, Elliott, Sinn etc missed the boat. They all cried foul at the lack of time to put a ticket together before the board election yet Clarke, Littman & Suss were able to get their act together & get a ticket together & get elected to the board. The question will continue to be asked as to how fair dinkum De Lutis, Elliott & Sinn were.

Exactly, and we've been doing that for far to long at PP. From what I understand, the staff at PP get paid very little, and therefore, we really are doing ourselves a dis-service by not getting the best people into the place.

My thoughts surrounded the article in todays Heruld Sun, i am not saying it is the answer but if someone was supported by the board and elected accordingly, this could only increase unity.

From what I could gather the Delutis and Sinn "tickets were completely seperate, with the Delutis ticket being very impressive.

Greg Lee for me is the stand out on the current board and was highlighted as a potential Pres when he was elected.

If Lee is made President he will be advertising nationwide for a CEO (rather than just appointing Shane Healy) - Malouf is a goner whether Moulton or Lee gets up.

Greg will also be inviting EVERY former director back to the club for a function to mend fences - its only a beginning but its an important symbolic gesture.

The De Lutis & Sinn tickets were separate & I find it hard to understand how neither of them were able to get their acts together in time for the election. The election result demonstrates that the members were prepared to bring in fresh blood. They just weren't offered enough fresh blood.

I totally agree with your comments about Greg Lee. He would be my pick as president, but it would seem that Moulton may have some support as well. Let's hope the process in choosing the president is relatively clean, with whoever is chosen having a large majority of support (unanimous support would be even better).

I PM'd Blue Thunder about this very question. Was advised that DeLuits has been spoken to already and will be a further discussion on Monday afternoon.

There are 2 or 3 others that will be approached by the current board members this week with the board then making a decision based on the best candidates prepared to put their hand up for the Presidency.

Also mentioned that Greg Lee was highly respected amongst the current group of people on the board and that he would make a very good President or even Vice President.

Either way it was mentioned that the disgruntled groups behind the scenes will support the current board and slowly but surely come back to the club.

Snappy comeback. I was actually reminding you of the rule as a moderator, so the smug response is not required either. There is not a separate set of rules for you I'm afraid.

Maybe he was appreciating the irony. It's amazing how things have changed. :thumbsu:

Have to give credit where credit is due, you and the other mods have done a fantastic effort with this Carlton board. I remember when I first joined Bigfooty almost no one posted here and now it's easily up there with the best Carlton forums on the net. Well done.

I read both TC and BF and I must say, BF is a better read and easier on the eyes as well.

Congratulations to all Carlton posters on BF. BF certainly gets the nod of approval from me over TC :thumbsu:

I wasn't having a shot at the overall quality of TC by the way, just the odd routine that slides past the censors from time to time. The mods over there are pretty cool and I have a lot of time for them.

No doubt but the tone of the forum has changed. Unless you have the right opinions or have secret contacts with people in charge of the club you're generally threated with scorn and that's not something I generally enjoy seeing.
