Barham was a part of the Skippy > Riewoldt deal. :thumbsu:

I downgraded Robinson to Barham and used the cash to upgrade Skipworth to Riewoldt. Barham is only on the bench to make money anyways so no big deal. :o

I still have Hentshcel the spud doing nothing on the bench and in reality should have downgraded him to a rookie and I could have upgraded Robinson > Coughlin by now. Hindsight is a wonderful thing though. I brought in Macaffer for for Walker this week by mistake and was meant to click on Hentschel! LOL! :p

Don't regret doing the trade and having Riewoldt though one bit, has been excellent so far. :)
Fair enough, I guess you didn't really have many other options to downgrade to that time, now it seems like there is too much.

Lucas > Macaffer then Beams > Power. Got a keeper and cover in Power and kept Ablett.

Did the trade to Cogs and upgraded Suckling (yeah i know) to Lockyer. I figure if Cogs can average anything around the 80 mark, it will be a success. Anything under will be slightly dissapointing. Even if he fails to fire, he might be ok as a 6th mid and the spare cash i got has already upgraded me 1 player and the 2nd comes in next week. Once Didak is in and if Houlihan fires, i will have myself all but a complete team (pending my decision on Rich and whther Adcock gets cut)

Next week, Otten will become Power. I will see whats happpening next week with Houlihan and Didak. I would expect Hoops to be back and can hopefully fire again. Didak should only be 1 or 2, but i'm not sure on his exact injury....

Out: Ablett, Richoman
In: Bartel, Deledio.

Figured the smartest thing to do was fight fire with fire and get their respective partners in crime. JimmyBob is no worry with his proven record and Lids has posted 100+ in the last 2 games, interestingly Richoman was injured early in both those games.

Traded him out to fund 2 upgrades next week which may not work out now cos Brown didn't play and increase in value like i planned :o

Traded Ablett in the end:o
Ablett > Jimmy
Brown > Chappy.
With Gary out of the cats midfield, both these guys can really step up I reckon. As shown on the w/e.
Hope it was a decent decision.

In hindsight, it was not a decent decision. Unlucky dude.

i just couldnt make up my mind on what to do, then i remembered i had to be somewhere, so i left it alone and kept ablett, along with houlihan and higgins i have 3 doughnuts this week, but in the long run i think i have made the right choice to keep him

traded him for bartel. Was planning to get bartel in sooner or later. ended up being sooner. too bad he had a shite score this week. will have no probs getting ablett back in. expecting his price to drop a little when he comes back to around the high 600$...and av only 110 for a few games (i think thats the way it went last year whn he got injured?)

traded him for Sewell. Upgraded Houlihan with the cash to Mundy. Nearly went with Priddis and Hodge. I consider myself lucky.
If he comes back in a couple of weeks and proves his fitness, out goes Kornes and Beams for Gaz and whoever.

I had no cover in my mids so traded him for Swan and looked at it as purely an injury cover trade only.

I saved the spare cash and, if all goes well, in 2 weeks it will be Dangerfield & Rich OUT and Ablett & rookie IN. I then keep Swan and my mids become Ablett, Swan, J Selwood, Judd, Kornes, Hartlett (Anthony, rookie).

Ablett becomes just another premium upgrade trade I would have done anyway. I just got Swan earlier than planned. So it's only 1 trade "wasted". It's not a waste of a second trade just because the upcoming premium upgrade happens to be Ablett again (a cheaper Ablett).

The problem comes for those that spent the spare money immediately but, even then, it's just bringing forward premium upgrades leaving only the 1 trade burned (being the Ablett OUT trade).

It does mean I am being extra careful with the trades until he returns but I think it's worth it in the long run because there's still 14 rounds left!

I kept him and Im glad that I did as it turns out I was reading an article on him on the AFL website and he is saying he wants to come back this week I know that probably wont happen Bomber Thompson will not pick him this week next week on the other hand I can see him coming back in to the team.

Geelong will be cautious with him and wont pick him this week BUT considering he is saying he feels a heap better and the injury is going better than expected he will be back in round 9.

Its amazing what 1 man can do for SC/DT i know that a majority of people had him in their teams and the people who picked him are now all struggling this week plus its a very low scoring round I have 2 theorys about that though

1. the Fact that Ablett isnt playing and because alot of you pick him as Captain in your teams means there was going to be a round like this I mean considering ablett scores at least 300 points if you put him as captain thats 300 less on your scores

2 theres always a bad week for scoring and the fact that alot of the "good" players have had shockers this week doesnt help our scores.

I had a feeling that Ablett would be back before the predicted time frame. its not a sure thing at present I reckon he will be back next week though

Traded Ablett for Coughlan. Allowed me to bring in Pav for Richo and will allow me 3 more premium upgrades as well. I'm happy with the decision and will live with it.

Those predicting he'll be back based on an article he wrote might want to wait till he actually comes back and see what he scores. He might continue on but there's a reasonable chance he'll slow a bit and drop to an affordable level.

That was always the gamble with the trade. It's not really about how long he's out for. It's about what happens to his price and whether you can capitalise on it.

Good luck to those who benched him and good luck to those who traded him.

Kept him. Had Dangerfield as cover, his 63 this week was definitely not Ablett-esque but if he can keep that up throughout Gaz's absence I won't be that unhappy. Funnily enough, am having a slightly better than average week this week, even with Gaz on the pine. On averages, should be about mid-2200's.

I don't think there was a right or wrong answer to this dilemma. If you've got trades in hand, then maybe it 's not a bad move to move him on, wait for him to drop and bring him back in. I was tempted by the bucketloads of cash on offer if I traded him, but a) have only 16 trades left, b) suspect he'll be back reasonably soon; and c) think he'll still score well on return (from memory, I think his overall ave dipped, but he still scored a 158 almost immediately after returning from injury.

Been decimated by injury this week, so am kinda glad i held off trading him.

I swapped him for Dane Swan who's been an absolute gun the last 5 weeks. The first 2 weeks Ablett came back when I didn't have him Swan almost matched his scores.

Now I have Swan AND Ablett whereas Swan would be out of reach by now

If my trade-in player had gone backwards then I'd feel differently now

I wonder how ay people who took the risk and dropped him manged to find the cash to get him back in?
was it worth it?

I dropped him and have failed to get him back so it definitely wasnt worth it for me. Expected him to get below $700k so i spent too much to stick with the original plan. Traded him for Sewell who i cant complain about so now gonna look at Pendlebury to compensate once he returns as he will be ridiculously cheap (i hope).

I dropped him for Sewell, who has been a great pick up - very consistent. Then to get him back in I compromised my back line, which I am paying for. But you simply must have him to be competitive. Noone else comes close and he's a lock for captain each and every week.
