Elon Musk 2024 for potus?

If only this was factual.

Australia's would require around 7,000 square kilometres of panels or 3-5 billion solar panels. This number also only considers electricity demand and ignores thermal demand. So again increase this significantly. Plus you'd have to have batteries which cost 8-10 times more than the cost of producing power.

So for the US multiply Australia's demand by 20 to 40 times. Then add for the additional need for the EV.

Then consider the impact to the economy from shifting from $0.04-$0.09 per kwh energy production to $0.46 for reliable power.

This is why there is a massive gap between tik tok and tweets vs reality

Elon Musk's Lithium solar & wind battery farm in South Oz.

The battery farm in SA is a con

1) the batteries were car batteries linked together to "dump" batteries bought from Panasonic for cars that Tesla couldn't build
2) The batteries on average last 2 years meaning there is a massive environmental waste issue building up
3) as the batteries are replaced, they are not replaced with new batteries but the old batteries below 80% from Tesla warranties
4) SA is happy to accept the world's waste

The positive is, it does work for its purpose of stabilising the grid made unstable by renewables. However at north of $0.40 per kwh storage, this isn't feasible for power storage to power the grid.

And yet here we are 3 years later

The worlds waste because recycling doesnt exist and emissions from coal fired power isnt the worlds waste and also a bit rich from the loudest Nuclear fan boy on BF

Opening premise to concluding premise seem a smite incongruous, don't you think!

So no comment regarding the false statements made on a tik tok source or yet another misleading and deceptive representation by Elon

At least I’m up front about my position and can present a basis for that position.

Can you?

And no it is not incongruous if you bothered to think about solar. It doesn’t work 75% of the time, so you need storage.

Batteries currently work stabilising the Gris but they aren’t suited in providing storage 70% of the time.

So I was pointing out what should be 101 type understanding. I’m surprised you don’t know this

No doubt energy systems that aren’t closed loop should be held to account for their pollution.

That’s why batteries, solar panels, the carcinogenic processes, child labour suffering from blood poisoning and the rare earth mining should be held to the same scrutiny as other industries.

We also have the massive CO2 output from renewable grids due to the heavy reliance on gas making renewables expensive and ineffective. Yet again many chose to ignore the full cost to the environment due to CO2.

Do you feel SA should accept the waste from Elon’s cars just because it bought a battery from him? Surely SA should only accept the waste from the battery?

And yes I’m pro nuclear, specifically fast breeders which represent the lowest waste of all technologies

You've jumped to & made an awful lot of assumptions here.

My point was that the batteries work fit for their purpose....Something you admitted yourself, begrudgingly.

Not sure why you're getting your panties in a twist over it.

It devalues his Uranium shares

Please re read my post and don’t cherry pick

Further put in context to the OP

Please feel free to repost based on those items and see how you go

It devalues his Uranium shares

My funds mandate doesn’t allow investment in uranium

Personally I would hold $3k in uranium at the moment and don’t see uranium running until the SMR is rolled out in numbers. So no, I’m not conflicted.

Canada has just bought one, the US has just bought 4 and Namibia 8. Australia is looking at 1 but that will be a while.

When this becomes 100 per year, then we know it’s time.

I've been a big greeny my whole life, massively anti nuclear, and been stoked that the world woke up and pumped $$$ into renewables and rolling out. But unbelievably, just in the last week or two I'm actually turning a bit pro nuclear. I'm struggling with that thought, feel dirty. But the more I learn the more it seems to make sense today and the near future. I can't believe I'm saying that, now let's never speak of this again.

If everybody who was pro nuclear was willing to store some waste under there house I m sure it would be fine

This could be a game changer

The promise of low-cost hydrogen storage to power our homes and businesses may be a lot closer to becoming a reality if new technology developed and owned in Australia can make a speedy transition from the lab.

The system uses power to create hydrogen, which is then stored until needed for electricity production via a fuel cell.

"It’s cheaper and cleaner than buying from the grid,"

household batteries would most likely hold up to 60 kilowatt-hours, or about five times the capacity of existing lithium storage on the market. About 130 centimetres high, the size of a small fridge, each would weigh 196 kilograms.

The cost could go as low as 2¢ per kW-hour, or less than one-tenth the cost of lithium rivals and buying power from the grid, making the storage highly competitive,

his company hoped to add hydrogen storage for the company's planned five-megawatt community-owned solar farm planned for Manilla, near Tamworth in northern NSW.

The batteries, held within two shipping containers, would aim to store about eight hours' worth of electricity, increasing the prospect that the nearby users could move off the grid entirely.

The aim is to develop dozens of such solar farms, backed up with wind and storage, in coming years, he said.
