You don't drop games like we have in the past month unless there is a bit of unrest at the footy club. Maybe it stems back to the Witts incident, maybe it's the lack of oppurtunity given to consistent performers at VFL level. Whatever it is something isn't quite right down at that footy club at the moment. Swan looks like a racehorse they should put down. Not interested. I have never seen such a limited output from Swanny over a lengthy period. No one is protecting Pendles or Beams. Cloke gets monstered by 3 on 1's every week. Why Keefe was dropped is beyond me with the likes of Carlisle and Daniher. Once again like my previous thread with Jones, Day and now Carlisle we make ordinary players look like champions. For once in a while I can't find any answers!

Agreed. There is no 'team spirit' evident and many are going through the motions. Blair, Macaffer do not have the skills. The backline was Frost today with no help. Marley shouldn't be there, Seedsman is not fit, Swanny is missing and doing sportsman nights talks, Siddy keeps trying, Harry looks like he is going through the motions with the occasional dance, there is no forward line, they just want to go backwards as there is no-one forward. Let me go on, but Bucks has some questions to answer. It is looking like the handsome threesome of Voss, Hird and Buckley are no good as coaches. Voss was clueless, Hird a cheat and Buckely has an unskilled player group. Depressing to watch today. I've seen Little League teams play with more passion.

We are playing to many kids and have been all year. Injuries have forced our hand but it's killed us. There is no zip in the step of some players which was there first part of the year. Having frost and keffee play as key backs and Langdon play big roles has made it hard. They have done well but it's caught up with them. Good for the future but pain for us now.

Yeah it might be time I give in and realise we need a proper coach.
Jeez that's huge coming from you.

I remember you were one of if not the most excited person on here leading up to Buckley taking over. I think you are right though, but the Eddie would rather divorce his wife than sack Buckley.

Yep, I think so. Ed won't sack Buckley. This is the thing about Eddie, he's both a blessing and a curse for our club.

I understand we have injuries(like every other club) but that doesn't excuse us of having a complete lack of motivation, desire and passion week in,week out

Yep, the Hawks had and have more important injuries than us and keep winning. Injuries or not, you don't lose to any AFL club that has no bench for a quarter especially GC.

Essendon are rubbish and they had Goddard and Watson out as well. Don't be fooled by Essendons win today, they are no good and would have lost to a lot of other teams today. Something is not right at club and something has to change.

I think there is a distinction compared to last year.

Last year there seemed a lack of community of purpose, disparate voices pulling in multiple directions.

This year we are united in being clueless. Selection, injury management, gameplan. Committed to not realising we dont got it and need to change.

We've gone from top 4 challenger to hanging in the 8 by a fingernail, in the space of a month.

Something plainly isn't right at the club, players have dropped right off.

Dropping Keeffe is hard to understand, was it for discipline and we don't know of it? Maxwell coming back after 5 weeks out was always going to play an average game at best, to pick him at CHB was mind boggling and smacks of desperation.

Yes, the season has been cruel to us with injuries, Reid, Brown, Fas, Sinclair, Karnezis, Freeman, Scharenberg, Oxley and now Elliot.

Swan is terribly out of form, is it injury, age or both catching up with him? Ball still has the hunger but looks to be nearing the end, as does Maxy.
Tavis has been very hot and cold this year. White, after a bright start has fallen right away, as has Grundy. Harry has dropped right away, Young is very inconsistent, Seedsman seems the only player with pace at the moment.

Can't see us staying in the eight and if that is the best we can offer don't want to suffer the embarrassment of a finals thrashing. I'd suggest its time to play some of the kids but they all seem to be bloody injured.

Something isn't right and it makes me sick! Do we blame the coach or coaching group? I don't really know but some serious questions need to be asked. So depressing.

I know AFL is on a completely different level, but in my time I've always found that ensuring you have a great environment in which to work in, and ensuring players loved being in that environment, made achieving results that little bit easier, as players would endure the hard work, would be prepared to be more selfless and often go the extra mile.

Again, it's a different level, but surely similar principles apply in that getting the best out of our players is the first and main objective of a coach? just look at how uncomfortable we are in the game plan, so uncertain etc. Where is the freedom, the enjoyment? The passion to get to contest after contest, as you'd expect a team mate to do for you.

Coaching an environment is so important. It just looks to an outsider thst our environment is not a fun place to be.
