I'm disappointed how some of the great music artists and bands from the 70s, 80s and 90s are getting shafted in favour of Millennial rubbish.

Like my Pixies song getting 2 votes in the Best of 2019 round while some absolute rubbish from the Millennial generation is getting double figure votes.

Some of my fellow Gen Xers here are voting for Millennial rubbish instead of voting for a great song from a great Gen X band just to appear cool and hip.

This band shits all over any Millennial band I've heard here, they even shit all over Kiss.

If in the unlikely event I ever win another round it will be a Pixies theme and it will be the best damn playlist this song contest has ever seen.

Pixies are one of the greatest bands of all time but haven’t released great music since the 90s, and that wasn’t really one of their better new songs either. The winner of the round was also Tool, a 90s band.

Tool are the biggest whores of the contest.

I happily vote for them every time.

I am not part of the solution.

Catfish Kate is one of the few new Pixies songs that reminds me of the old Pixies, their lead single off their new album I thought was garbage.

I didn't rate the new Tool album either, just seemed like a retread of some of their old stuff but not as good, wasn't worth waiting 13 years for.

I still gave Pneuma 5 botes though because it was Tool and there wasn't anything else worth 5 imo, if in doubt go the old tried and true option.

There is a reason why there are no Tool cover bands, they're just too damn good and complex for any other band to cover.

You hear cover bands playing Metallica and Rage Against The Machine, you never hear of a cover band playing a Tool song.

Not sure if you ever watched How I Met Your Mother, but there’s a show explaining the chain of screaming. In this case, my daughter screams at me so therefore I transfer that onto you pieces of shit!

She was literally laying on the floor last night throwing a tantrum. When I asked her why, she said because I want to scream at you 🤣
My boy king hits me, kisses me and says "Sorry Dad" then king hits me again.

KISS is far superior. Two kisschasy members were a few years above me at high school . Their earlier band 'Tenpin" were actually far better and more fun. KC first show was in my common room in year 8 with a band called "From These Wings To Ashes" which eventually did well as a band as Carpathian. Funny in hindsight.

I love KISS.

I went to the same high school in Perth as Mark McEntee of Divinyls fame, he was a fair few years older than us but there was this rumour that did the rounds that some teacher told him off for being too focused on playing guitar instead of school and said he would never amount to anything playing guitar.

He sure showed them, he went to Love School.

I don't mind the new Pixies album, but that track wasn't getting votes. Others would have. Same with the Springsteen nom. I actually like the new album, and if GreyCrow didn't nom the weakest song on the album, I'd have nommed something from it.

Maybe I should have nommed the live version from Colbert's late show, it's a little rougher round the edges.

That's when I first heard that song and it took me back to the old Pixies, most memorable song of 2019 for me apart from Dance Monkey.

I’m yet to listen to the playlist, so I won’t be reading or responding to votes yet (host integrity and all that). Not likely to do that today. Too busy peeling off a hundred, no doubt...

I think the next round should be a Kris kringle round

Give the gift of music to someone

Make sure it's something they don't already have
It's so easy to do a Christmas theme round whilst avoiding Christmas songs entirely by using Christmas related words in song titles or artist/band/band member names.

Unfortunately the mere mention of Christmas brings out the groans from the unimaginative dullards who stick us with themes such as 'Nom A Song That Is Available On YouTube' or 'Nom A Song That You Hear With Your Ears' or 'Nom A Song, Or Don't Nom A Song, I Really Don't Care Either Way'.

I would like to gift everybody a copy of DroopStDanny's Book Of Excellent Themes, but I won't. Everybody can go and get f***ed.
