The 360 has been outselling the PS3 since release...
Both consoles are so old now, I don't really care anymore. Sony did give us Blu Ray, which has been good.

Did you notice how quiet the internet was about Valve announcing the other day that encrypted credit card details may be been stolen in the Steam hack a little while back?
Maybe the internet was still weak from all the energy spent on Sony hate.
Or maybe, they are starting to hate the hackers instead. Nah, probably wishful thinking there.
(Disclaimer: I love Steam and Valve - have a shitload of games on my Steam account)

Sony did lose the massive headstart it had from the previous console generation (anyone got the all-time PS2 vs XBox sales figures?).
Just for that reason MS has done an amazing job this generation.
It really is a golden age of gaming anyway. Who has time to play all the quality titles on all the consoles? So pick what you want to play and get on with it I reckon.

It's changed since the end of the gen. But I believe it was about 142 million units PS2 to 40ish million XBOX.
