It's highly likely he may well not have been selected by the Brions.

They gave him a only a few games after their season was over last year, his body type and role suits our team well and I'm rapt he is a Pie and has filled his role so well to date.

Uh, what the hell are you talking about? We got James Clement and Brodie Holland from Fremantle in 2000 in a big multi-team trade in which we traded Paul Williams. Neither one was really steak knives - They were both targets in the trade.

Paul Medhurst came in 2006 when we traded Tarrant to Fremantle for Pick #8 (Ben Reid) and received Medhurst as a throw in on the deal.

Before Crisp, I felt that the team was badly lacking depth in the midfield. We had grunt, but not enough big grunt. We had outside accumulators, but they were slow or made bad decisions. We really lacked quality depth and it was really telling when Blair was needed as a centre square midfielder. I placed a lot of hope on Karnezis and Freeman in the off-season.

But Crisp has almost single handedly solved both those issues. Along with Varcoe and the continued growth of Broomhead, I'm starting to wonder what on earth are we going to do with Karnezis, Fasolo and Macaffer. We have some really solid midfield depth going on since Freeman, De Goey and Kennedy are all waiting in the wings. Let alone Scharenberg, who Bucks wants to play as a midfielder. And hell, with Langdon and Oxley holding up their end of the bargain, Shaz might not even have an opportunity to play as a back flanker at AFL level.
