I know all the talk has been about Thornton and PP of late...

but what about SOS.

Today we hear how SOS is going up to Sydney to help out LRT before the GF.

Bulldogs rate him highly... Swans rate him highly to fly him up and pay him to give a one on one with LRT.

Some of us here previously have said they're a bit sceptical about SOS being a coach/senior coach with us.

We have 2 clubs with good coaches and talent rating SOS highly!!!

Should the CFC go full on and try to get his services??

discuss!

Absolutely I do!!!
Our defence needs alot of attention and SOS is the right man to do just that. It needs alot of restructering, than again so does our whole side!!

Would also like Brett Ratten to come on board as our midfield coach. Assist our up and comers such as - Murphy, Simpson, Bentick, Jackson, Blackwell, etc.

We SHOULD do everything we can to lure him back to the club in some capacity. Not necessarily as a coach (thats something we'd have to assess in the future) but as an assistant definately.

I remember a couple of season ago (or maybe last year?) when SOS spent alot of time with LRT he turned from a lost looking defender into a confident, elite backman. From that time i knew SOS must be a great teacher of his craft.

IF he's good enough for 2 of the most inovative coaches in the game who are playing finals football, then he should be more than welcome at carlton.

I dont know what the board is doing with thornton and his salary but i hope we get our act together, resign him, and get some terrific tutelage from SOS in coming seasons to whip our defence into shape.

It would be great to see SOS taking Bower under his wing, as i think this kid is going to be a champion.

I think confident, capable backman is a better description.

Agree that SOS would be a welcome addition back at PP, just the knowledge and know how he could impart would be so superior to whatever Elshaugh would have been able to show.

mmmmmmm, yes. But being a key position backman in a premiereship side isnt anything to sneeze at.

Good player in any case. If only we didnt get screwed by sydney with saddington and ended up with LRT somehow:rolleyes:

Carlton defintely need a decent defensive coach, since the losers we've had have been three ****s of uselss the last 3 years.

Now that we're gonna lose Thornton, who is the worlds greatest 'All Australian that never was' we need a defensive coach more than ever, to hopefully help get shleppers like McGrath and Saddington and whoever else we can chuck down there and hope sticks, get up to speed.

SOS and Voss as assistants. Defence and midfield coaches covered. Daniher can stay as the forward coach, coincides with Fev's best ever season. SOS will also be good at delivering those 'what it means to play for Carlton' speeches we need from time to time.

With SOS and Voss at Carlton, our repuation will jump. We desperately need people like this at the club, as Parkin said, we need hope and these guys will definetly provide that.
