The Fitzroy Stars FC are holding a BBQ to seek interest of potential players. The Northern Football League are seeking a list of potential players to coincide with our application, the NFL will be considering our entry into the NFL on Monday 10th December;

Are they still around? f**king hell I remember playing them when I was 8, the club was kicked out of the DVJFL when a kid bite another kids ear off and his parents came running onto the ground with a bar and when to hit the 16 year old umpire.

Not a bad idea....a few blockbusters for the season opener. Clayton v Springy Dists will be interesting underlights on the Friday nite. Big stage for the District boys will they make an impression early. Doesn't get any better chance than this against a perenial finalist in Clayton. How will Wellsy saddle up in his 1st game against his former club? 4 Qtr time back playing Divvy 1 footy how do u think your chances will be?

Yes, that might of happen! but all those problem issues have been addressed with the NFL, as would you know the DVFL is now the NFL, it's a different generation from then, and are now wanting to know of any interested players, you can private message me, if you know of anyone that will, put on the boots and jumper

I would steer well clear of appointing Kevin Barnshaw to any position within your club. He has already been shown the door at several clubs around Melbourne, due to dishonest practices that I will not go into detail here. If you really want the lowdown, PM me.

Thanks for the feedback guys, the selection commitee got a similar repsonse when they contacted his previous clubs.

hi guys, just wondering if anyone has got any info on Neil Collett and Dave Willis, they are taking over as coach and assistant at a club in the league that i follow. I have heard that Collett walked out on or was sacked from a SFL club?

Quick congrats to former Cheltenham junior (via Sandingham VFL) Shane Valenti who was just drafted by Melbourne at 49 in the Rookie Draft.
I second that super!!! had the privlidge of playing with the lad in 3 premierships at the panthers a great player and a humble bloke aswell!! I think he has the potential to do well!! best of luck to him

I think he was sacked from two clubs in the last few years (Parkmore and Canterbury), i think he might have been involved with Dandy Demons and Mt Waverley at some stage as well
True indeed. Neil was involved with Dandy Demons (when they were Dandy West) as a player and coach for many years, the spent a year at Mount systematically destroying the place. He is one of the main reasons Mount went into recession in 2003. The less this worm is mentioned the better.
