Spain v USA

********ing dumbarse commentators calling the great man "Powell" or "Paul".

The great man is ripping it up and really leading the Spaniards. Already has 12 points down low on Duncan and co.

Spain need to give him some more help, Navarro is hitting the odd shot, but that aside, Pau is alone.

18 points for the great man now. Monstering the Yanks.

If only Spain could give him some help.

I was pretty sure Jefferson travelled just before the Amare dunk (very soft foul on that too)
Spain down by 1 at the half, not backing down, whilst the US just don't want to shoot from the outside

Spain's centre Deunas has some remarkably hairsuite triceps and shoulders and a prototype Simian brow. Remarkably attractive fellow.

Hirsute indeed. Thought they were tatts for a minute there.

Pity that Spain didn't hit the three effectively throughout the game. They got plenty of open looks, but couldn't knock them down when it counted. Still, from what I saw if Lithuania or whatever other team the USA face can hit an outside shot with regularity then they'll got down. And I will laugh and laugh and laugh.

It was funny when Larry Brown (I love the man) called a time out with 27 seconds left being up by about 9. From what Drewy was saying, this is considered very bad form in the Euro-leagues, almost a way of saying "fu(k you, we beat you and now we're going to rub it in". The Spanish crowd chanting "usted es un puta" at Larry Brown was quite funny. Pretty much exactly the same thing we chant at Tony Greig at the cricket.

I've watched a few basketball games in this olympics, and the refereeing has been incomprehensible. I was impressed with Gasol's game, and Marbury showed us what he's made of. Did anybody else find it weird the way the commentators were pronouncing the names on the dream team?

Interesting to note that Pau's a right handed shooter, yet took it to the hole more often with his left hand. That smacks of European coaching right there, and makes him so much harder to defend around the basket.

What people (hello Jod and Kenneth) forget is that Pau has only played competitive ball for 7 years and is still growing, both physically and mentally.

He won't hit his peak until he's in his late 20's, when he's fully grown into his body and has the strength and confidence to go hard against the big boys.

The scope for improvement is unbelievable.

Yet you get someone like Calvin Booth who plays his whole life and still looks like a ******.

I am sure you will be suitably impressed by Danny "the potato" Fortson. :D

Hey, I'll take a 17 rebound per 48 minute career average with our current roster, even if he is a horrible defender, poor post scorer and all around thug. It's what we need - someone who can bang a few bodies and grab a few rebounds.

Calvin Booth has gotten double figure blocks in a game for Seattle, but never rebounds. Go figure.

didnt see the game last nite, but i have noticed that every time Okafur comes on, Gaze says he's the number one draft pick, i couldve sworn he was pick 2 by Bobcats.......You should know that Gaze..

I can imagine you're a very excited boy over the prospect of this 'scope for improvement'? :D
