MARK Thompson is likely to be unveiled as the new Gold Coast Suns senior coach by the end of the week after Guy McKenna was sacked on Wednesday.

Thompson is said to have toured the Suns facilities at Metricon Stadium last week, although the club denied this was the case.

The visit was confirmed to the Gold Coast Bulletin by a club staffer.
