Actually you debated and disagreed with my opinion which is fine. That's what these forums are for after all ... Information and opinions.

Refuted however means to disprove or to prove wrong ..... which you didn't do. But I know what you meant.

Back on the subject though. Must say it really seems odd that there have been so many of the media (and bookie favourites) who have allegedly been counted out of the running or have denied being interested or even contacted.

Slowest process in history and no one has been contacted?
They're all lying bastards?
Suns have had their man from the get go and want to make it look like they are good guys (re Bluey termination)?
 
Who really knows. I'm sort of over speculating. Just gonna see what happens and ride the wave.

But yeah their may be something in that, or it may just be that it came at a time when they had quite a few injuries. Not sure.

The coach doesn't pick the team on his own, but I assume Bolton coached him when he was in charge of Box Hill??
Haven't checked that though .... When was MH recruited and when did Bolton stop coaching Box Hill?

What confuses me is that Guy McKenna was sacked over 2 weeks ago.
In that period the coaching selection sub committee have not to my knowledge interviewed 1 candidate.
Either the Board are keeping extremely tight lipped or they have already chosen someone.

There's no way the AFL would allow the Suns to sit idle for two weeks, or even to sack their coach without a back up to begin with. I'm positive they've found their man and they're waiting to announce it. However, their reasons or even their general timeline for the process is relatively unknown, and for a new club (or any club tbh), it's pretty pathetic.

Bomber is back in the country now isn't he? If he is, then I expect some news to leak in the next few days as to whether he's our new coach or not.

From a different perspective, I don't think there's been any information about whether Primus is keeping his job, or what's happening to our NEAFL side. Maybe they're going to announce everything at once. Just say Bomber is confirmed, but Fraser's and Primus' positions are vacant, maybe they're still looking around to fill those spots in order to announce everything at once.

New coach, new assistant, new NEAFL coach, new speciality coaches, Gaz's re-signing, perhaps some players with 2015 contracts expiring who are re-signing, etc. Huge announcement to get the Suns back in the spotlight.

It seems to fit doesn't it, no urgency, no interviews (media usually finds these out) lead to the conclusion that it has already been sorted and they are waiting for the applicant to return to the country for the announcement. I hope this theory is wrong as I think Bomber past his best, I guess time will tell
 
I guess as soon as I put this in print the Suns will announce someone else but my guess is that it will be Bolton. he has the Hawthorn system experience and the stint while Clarkson was ill. Unless there is a real left field candidate/appointment i am not seeing an experienced AFL coach being appointed.
 
If anyone does think its Thompsons job , get on the gravy train , he's 10-1.
 
The past 4 days Luke Beveridge has gone from a 20-1 shot to coach us to equal fav 3-1 on sportsbet , a lot of money has gone onto him , anyone know anything about him?

Extremely highly related. It's funny, because he actually just joined Saint Kilda as Director of Coaching I think? So I'm not sure how that works. He would have only been in that gig for 3 months.
