It looks like the days of a slow Essendon outfit are over
With recent additions in the last couple of years, particularly in this draft, our treacle midfield should be consigned to history.
This is just fantastic news. I think there is cause for real optimism in the next few years. Our forward line is now nothing short of power-packed. Strength on the lead, in the air, and speed & skill when the ball hits the deck. Yes, we still have a weakness down back in a KPP sense, but I think some of the fast attacking types we now have in abundance can hopefully play off half back and really make an impact.
The bookends are going to be a key to our improvement. Not many teams get a quality, experienced full-back and full-forward added to their line-up over summer. This, along with our pace, the new draftees settling in over time, and the likes of Dempsey, Dyson, and Ryder to hopefully keep improving, we are going to be a vastly different team from last year
