It seems retailers are not the only ones cashing in on Christmas.

I've seen more speed cameras in the last two days than the last six months, they are EVERYWHERE.

Yeh and people shouldn't speed. I hate people blaming it all on revenue raising etc. It ********s me to tears. You speed, the police have the right to catch you and fine you no matter how many cameras are about.

I would prefer it to be called making Christmas safer rather than revenue raising.

A lot of people will be going out drinking, catching up with people this time of the year. There will be more cars on the road, and a lot of people driving interstate...

What do you expect?

Why speed anyway? Your very likely to get fined or have a crash. And at the end of it your only gonna gain a minute or two. Stupid.

They're cracking down hard on drink-drivers in Sydney. On Saturday night while going from St Leonards to Northmead (about 15kms) I got pulled over for a breath test 3 times. Fortunately I hadn't been drinking.

Don't speed & you won't get a fine.......simple really

Not in Victoria. We only get a tolerance of 3 kph. If you're speedo is out just slightly, or you've put air in your tyres, you may well get done when you think you're doing 60 or under.

Or, might I add, if you get done by a fixed speed camera. They are a farce. Sure, we hear when a 1971 Datsun or whatever it was caught supposedly doing 170 kph (when it could only ever do about 120), but what about when the error is much less obvious, for example if you're doing 98 kph on a freeway but the camera says you're doing 110?

Ditto

It's revenue raising when you get a 3kph tolerance. You'd have to be watching your speedo the whole time to ensure you never went over the speed limit. The way it is run at the moment is a farce with traffic cops expected to at least pay for themselves.

People have generally slowed down nowadays so you'd think the cops would be pleased. No, they tighten the screws with ridiculous margins of error and, in the case of Brisbane, bring in 50kph zones in no ordered fashion resulting in no one being sure whether they are in a 50 or 60 zone.

Why don't we just have a universal 35kph speed zone? We'd have no fatalities. Ever.

You mean , Just like trying to dignify charging 15bucks for an piece of crap picture underneath your name to boast ones ego?
