Speeding

Have the cops put away the speed cameras or something? I have been on the roads for a while now and enjoy speeding but am still to receive a speeding fine.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not complaining but I just found it weird. Has anyone else received one lately?

Yep, got back from overseas to the pleasant sight of a speed camera fine awaiting me. 67 in a 60 zone, the bastards. Still, that was the first one in about four or five years.

I went up to Seymour last Sunday (16/10) and on the way up, I saw one cop car with the radar gun and on the way back I saw 2 cop cars within about 5 kms of each other.

Was it anyone on here who attacked the speed camera in Keilor with a steering wheel lock last week? The bloke over seeing the thing was to scared to get out of his car. $40,000 worth of damage I think it was.

The best story I’ve heard involved the wide lads that went to the window of the speed camera car and engaged the operator in conversation, whilst another of their number crept up behind the car and surreptitiously removed the number plate.

The boys then bolted the plate on their car drove at warp speed a number of times past the camera. The speed camera issued about 10 fines to itself! :D :thumbsu:

And if someone steps out in front of your car while you're doing 142, they'd be dead and you'd get 6 to 10 years. Is it really worth it?

Seeing I dont drive a car, it would be a bit hard for this to happen.

Or bike or whatever. Still go to prison.
Unless you should be signed up for the Aussie Olympic team straight away, as you had reached 142 under your own propulsion!

What were you in/on?

with a bit of smooth talking, got away with 30 and over - $575 still though.

(could have been worse - it was originally a $1600 fine)

You don't mean 355 Euros cf. 1,000 do you mate?

Pity you didn't clean up that woman doing the Sound of Music dance in the process.

Very ********ed off. About 5 months ago I got my first speeding fine, only cost $50 and didn't lose any points (even though I'm on my P's). And last week I got flashed again :(.. I really can't afford $50 again but I'm going to have to. Thing is, I didn't even mean to or realise I was speeding.. I ********ing hate that.. the people that always speed deliberatly never get done. So two fines in less that a year of having my license :(.

On a bike, on a freeway with no pedestrians. So, it still kinda kills your theory.

This is a side issue to the whole speeding debate. You cant afford $50 but to a millionaire a speeding fine is a pi55 in the ocean.Should we link the monetary value to earnings or assets?

And they are the ones in the fast, expensive cars speeding all the time and probably not getting caught
