Spinning Hill II

My second thread of this nature involving Spinning Hill, my favourite horse in the land.

Will win the Manikato on saturday, further pushing it towards the elites of Australian sprinters in the modern era.

Looks like I'll be collecting my winnings from another successful Spinning Hill/ Yell quinella, just you wait and see

For the record, I didn't end up going for that quinella, instead I had the Double: Vocabulary/ Spinning Hill (so wasn't far off).

Spinning Hill absolutely bolted in today, strolled up to them at the turn and won it in a canter. The first 7 year old mare to win a Group One race in over 50 years- nothing short of an outstanding effort.

Guy Walter said today that today is probably the greatest moment in her career, and I couldn't agree more. This mare is an absolute star of Australian racing, and her career ain't over yet folks!! You ripper!

Vocabulary!!!

Remember a race I was watching at lunch last year at the Spring Hill pub, we had Vocab and another horse in the quinella. Start of the straight, it was last by a mile.. ran up the outside, won by three or four lengths. A fantastic race.

I'm not a huge racing fan, but Vocabulary is my favourite horse of all time, slightly ahead of Nothin' Leica Dane.

Yeah, I realise that, but the Nothin' Leica Dane call is the biggest random pick out of the Melbourne cup sweep I've ever seen. Go back to the Wrestling Board, Lenny.

3 gifts on saturday - spinning hill, sunday joy, and century kid in sydney. Easy money.

Could not work out why the kid was $13 in sydney, I mean it was only an average field and he's topline first up. 63kg isn't that difficult to lump for a sprinter.

I'm with you deej, Century Kid was great value I thought. How'd you like to own a horse like Century Kid? Just keeps plugging away as a 6 and 7 year old and wins the odd race to keep the prize money coming in. It would've won a fair bit overall now, great value for the owner.
