Seriously ****ed up man... and I ****ing mean ****ed up.

Been trying to get tickets all day from their website and phone number... Number is engaged all day while their website just constantly reloads.... when I finally do get through on the net site, it tells me they're SOLD OUT!!!!!!!!

Very very ****in pissed off!!!!!!!!!

We're locals... well within 80ks, and now gonna have to pay 500 or more to buy tickets of some **** who's probably in New York, or Western Australia!!!

Very, very pissed orf!!!!

Don't think you can buy them off others this year. Have your birthdate and name printed on the tickets, and you have to produce ID to get in, to stop scalpers.

I logged on at about 11AM to get tix.

By about 12:45 I was typing in my details.

I've got 4 tix.

Lucky bugger!

Dicey give me your phone number and I'll call ya while the arctic monkeys are tearing it up! ;)

0416854***

You do that, though I'll probably laugh at you... Arctic Monkeys and all

They reckon scalping won't work.

Where there is a will, there's a way... Might have to do a fence jump to get in.

I did my bit and bought Green Tickets.

hahahahaha, ****in guilable hippies.... Bet it makes you sleep well tonight :D

Apparantly when you log on you got into a physical cue. My brother got to the front of the cue and the pc crashed, so he just typed in the URL of the website that was the front of the queue and he went straight back to the front after resetting. Called a bunch of friends and gave them all this URL and it worked for all of them, getting straight to the front of the queue. This ended up getting out on the net and word spread, so people who didn't know about this trick were waiting, and they wouldn't get to the front because other people were already there.

If i hadn't got my tickets I would be pretty pissed off about the situation too!

I had weird things happen too.

Couldn't get anywhere - didn't even get INTO the dodgy queue system they had for a couple of hours. I was reading that people were being chucked out of the queue for no reason or being sent backwards in the queue (while NOT refreshing the page as the splendour organisers advised).
Then found out a backdoor ticket booking page that went straight through to booking tickets and giving details. Looks a big sus - like a phishing site, but decided to give it a go, that is until JJJ announced this unused booking page and the bloody thing crashed!
Meanwhile I was still not getting anywhere with the 60 second waiting page through the advertised ticketing URL.

Managed to find even more back door URL's and bypassed the dodgy 60 second waiting page completely and got straight into the queue and bought all our tickets at about midday.

Sooo so dodgy that we only managed to get tickets with a little bit of interent know-how and luck. So unfair on those with poorer internet connections or crappy computers as they were probably disadvantaged. I heard that some people could get nowhere for a couple of hours on one computer, changed computer and got straight through!

Lucky we got tickets, but I feel for those that missed out.

yeah it was a great way to spend 9-1, looking at a computer screen working out why i had being kicked out of the queue, having the computer crash at various times as well. And out of all that i still managed to not get tickets, so happy with my day today

Same story for me here as a lot of others. logged on at 9:15.. sat looking at the 60 second timer most of the morning, got into the queue a couple of times, but when I did eventually got pushed back and then back to the 60 second timer. Eventually I got in touch with a mate who somehow got straight into the queue, no back door sites or anything, and we had our tickets within half an hour.

All's well that ends well, but my god, that was a pain in the ass.

I feel your pain Dice Man, I went to the website at 8:50 yesterday morning, got nearly to the front row of the queue after about half an hour, then got booted out for no reason. I spent the rest of the day on their trying but could never get into the queue again. Tried the phone as well a few times but always engaged. This also happened to two other people I know of.
:thumbsd:

But at least I got a day off work, even if I was just looking at a computer screen and clicking a mouse button every 60 seconds.

at least these tickets all went to people who want to go to the festival, and not like what normally happens, where a large amount go into the hands of scalpers...

it sucks that not everyone got tickets, but it's better than thousands of dollars going into wallets of scalping scum...

and some people may return their tickets to splendour, if they no longer want their ticket, so there may be more available at a later stage, just keep an eye on things...

YOu shouldn't have been clicking any buttons..

I logged in to the queue... and opened a new page and looked at bigfooty and everything i normally look at.. next thing i know (2 hours later) i'm at the front of the queue.. Giddy up!

Yeah I didn't have to click any buttons while I was in the queue, but once I got booted out I had to go back into that thing that says waiting for a new cycle, please wait 60 seconds, and then it counts down, and when it gets to zero it says thankyou for your patience etc., there are no cycles currently available please wait, and you click it and it starts all over again, I spent from about 9:30 until whatever time it sold out doing that:mad:

I think it costs $25 to transfer to someone else, and you get a refund (not full though, I believe).

you aren't allowed to transfer them to someone else, as scalping can still take place...

you need to pay a $25 refund fee, which allows you to refund the face value of the ticket... you lose the booking fee, and you have to pay for registered post to return the tickets...

$192 p.p for ticket and $122 for a campsite. Nothing is worth that sum of money, though i was killing to go.

Splendour is bloody amazing though.

Camping elsewhere is the way to go - which is cheaper, can have our car pumping nearby and have plenty of room to spread out and drink.

But, yes I am not happy with the ticket prices. Increase of $30 since last year and a total increase of $70 from two years ago. No new areas this year? no paying for workers (they volunteer) and costs do NOT increase that much over a year.

The organisers do realise how popular it is and how much they can gouge us. Sold out in 30 hours last year and 5 hours this year WITH such a price increase. Apparently the demand was up 100% on last year.

That said I'll have the time of my life. :)

Yes, i know what you're saying, it just gets a bit much sometimes. Oh well, i'll just goto BDO and pay $100 and see a similar amount of bands, though Splendour had ALL my favourites :(
