Tonights loss, has left us periously close the Wooden Spoon, I can't see us winning another game this year.

Carlton and Hawthorn certainly have a chance to lift themselves above us.

No way, i gotta be honest, i cant stand the thought of winning the wooden spoon.

i Wanted to beat the blues tonight, but it wasnt to be!

Forget priority picks, my opinion is if you support failure then you are not a footy fan.

My 2 cents

It wouldn't bother me if we did finish bottom, 2 early picks, a free run at an uncontracted player and all important leverage in trade negotiations. We are a crap side when half our team is missing but take solace from the fact that Carlton are a whole different level of crap.

Yeah i dunno why ppl do it
I'll tell you why we do it, because we want Collingwood to become a power again and we can only do that with an injection of talent. What would a win over Carlton have achieved? It would have cemented 14th on the ladder, big bloody deal!, put your selfish need to feel good to one side and realise a priority pick will help turn us around more than useless win in a meaningless game.

How about having pride in your club??

As Carlton supporter I feel exactly the same. At this stage of the season, the reality is that there is more to be achieved by losing and finishing with less than 5 games than winning. It sucks I know, but that is footy 2005 style.

Yep i agree, its the last year of priority picks, so we might as well make the most out of it while we are in this position.

The season will be over soon and forgotten quickly and we might have some decent talent next year to boot.

Ask Richmond supporters if they would rather have just Deledio or Deledio AND Tambling. I put it to you that tonight WAS a win and when we get an EXTRA player for the next decade I bet you won't be complaining. What did you expect with
Rocca
Fraser
Tarrant
Didak
R. Shaw
Johnson
Richards
Caracella
C. Cloke
Lonie
all out. Try drinking a cool refreshing glass of reality. People like you are selfish, and I'll take a a very good player who will help us win over the next 10 years over feeling good for 24 hours any day.

Wanting my team to win games is selfish?? Good one.

keep telling yourself that. But the fact that our best players week in, week out are the youngsters and the future of our club, Waite, Fisher, Simpson, Bentick and co appear to me to be a helluva lot better the young talent you have, I would say we are closer to becoming a power onfield again then you are.

Bucks, Burns, Clement, Presti, Wakelin, Rocca .... all your best players and all soon gone. Fevola, Waite and Fisher are all better then Tarrant who doesn't want to be playing football and this is reflected by the dubious activites he is involved with off field .... Didak is nothing more then a Stephen Milne ... and Fraser is a pencil thin, injury prone player who during the rare times he does play, can't keep his feet, or compete with bigger bodies. Well I guess you can look forward to the hugely talented Cammy Cloke to return and that hard-as-nails winger, Lonie to come back.

I agree....a winning culture is far more important than 2 picks !
hate losing to Carlton.....singing the song after a win what it is all about... not to be :(

oh please.........drunk a bit to much have we after a good win !
yes, enjoy the spoils of victory, but do not pass judgement on a Collingwood side lacking so many players.
You've basically been at full strength all season...look at Northern Bullants ladder position to reflect this !!

your argument has holes everywhere ......
Kouta's got another year or 2 - he'll leave not a hole but a crater
Barnaby French is over 30 next yr - will De Luca make it ??

So how about key position !!
well Thornton looked promising tonight. please don't mention Livingston and as for Whitnall, wait till he plays on a more experienced CHF and your midfield is losing. He can't play accountable @ CHB !

yes you have promising flankers and midfielders coming through, but, so does every club !!

No one supports tanking the whole season, but when you get down to rd18, 19, 20 etc and you have been hit hard by injury and suddenly find yourself in a position to exploit the system, I dont know why you wouldnt?

Its all up to Essendon now, imo, the spoon isnt what is used to be, for now. This could be the last year of the current PP rules, so lets get the last use of them.

Plus, being a Pies supporter, would there be nothing better than getting Murphy to stay in melbourne and pick him up at 1 and taking a future superstar away from Brisbane?

Yeah that was their best side they could field on a park.

We all know that we are better then Carlton when you compare both teams full lists, and lets hope we have all our players in the team for when we play Carlton next, so we can really show them who's the better side.

Can we win another game for the season? The way we are travelling at the moment it looks like we can't, so that means we have the PP locked in the bag I guess.

Third bottom and six wins = Pick 5
Third bottom and five wins = pick 3 and 6
Bottom and five wins = picks 1 and 2

Hate to say it but bring on the wooden spoon. Teams have been chucking games for picks for years, let us be the last club to do it before priority picks are abolished.

Not a suprising comment coming from a guy with the Greek word for "glory" as his username ;)

I'm mixed about the whole situation. On one hand, I really don't like helping Carlton avoid the wooden spoon, and obviously that's tacked on to never wanting to lose to Carlton.

However, on the other hand, I'm not blind enough that I can't see how beneficial getting PPs would be.

Really? I thought we were better.
EVERY neutral media observer/expert and every opposition coach would tell you that Carlton has the worst list in the competition and that is not even open for debate. No injuries and still finishing near the bottom clearly tells the story. The bottom line is when the Blues were down they recieved nothing because of their salary cap cheating, John Elliot's gift that just keeps on giving.
