I am so happy that Spriggzy had a great game today! But the thing i have been wondering is when in the hell is he going to get a go in the senior side? I have been holding off for weeks but i am begginging to get more and more frustrated because if I'm right he hasn't played since round 3!!! Since he's been playing VFL he has been named in the best about 6 out of 7 weeks i just don't understand it. How is he suppose prove that he's a good player when he doesn't get a chance? He's even been kicking goals and somehow that still doesn't help. Whenever he is named in the side by the time sunday goes he never gets to play.... I know most of the boys are in good form and it would be hard to pick who is to come in but if Spriggzy is playing that good in the VFL i think he would be just as good in the seniors....

Spriggs has had his chances at AFL level and hasnt taken them. Poor disposal, soft to a contest and poor decision making would have many players ahead of him now. Even in the VFL today there was time when he made some dreadful skill errors when not under pressure. I honestly though Kolourioutis was better than him. Simply hes got nothing that we lack in the seniors and personally i cant see him being a big part of our future plans

Spriggs who quickly became my favourite player after the first few rounds in 2000, has in my eyes now become a liability for the team. Sure he does some good things sometimes, but most times he gets the ball I cringe.

I hope he manages to prove myself and most of the other Geelong supporters wrong; to show us he actually is worth keeping and playing... however he may have blown all of his chances.

If he is going to be traded , would it not be more to our favour to play him, let him show his wares.Consider Bartel.Killing them in the V's but by coming into the A's hes shown that hes got something to offer.Worth far more than he was 4 weeks ago.Spriggs still could offer plenty to many sides who lack running players, he has fantastic stamina and some like Crows or the Hawks may be interested.

Spriggs Mk 2

Don't be too concerned about Spriggs being a non-starter just yet....

Word is that, after the laziest couple of years, he is being groomed as the Next Big Thing in run-with players. Which is probably not such a bad idea given his disposal is pretty ordinary (another thing I hear is being worked on pretty hard!).

3 words: No bites, delist.

Your kidding me aren't you. Whilst agreed he won't command a 2nd rd draft pick there are plenty of clubs that think that they could turn Spriggs around. He'd be playing senior footy at a number of other clubs right now. Our problem is that we have so many similar type players all the same age he will find it very difficult to get a spot back. On form we are in the top 4 teams in the comp. Take away the first 2 weeks and we have been sensational. Narrow loses at Freo, Syd, and Port, (all games in which we lead well into the final qtr) and quality wins over Melb and Ess who currently occupy those spots.

Anybody is hard pressed making a side in that kind of form. Just ask Johnno or Enright or Rooke or Bartel.

Did you read my post?

"No bites, delist". Meaning, if we get no bites for him, delist him.

This is interesting. Where did you hear that?

Nice to see you posting BigCat.

Haven't seen you for a while.

Thanks mate. I've been absolutely snowed under lately. Still get time to read the guys posts every couple of days but haven't done much posting of late.

Sorry I misunderstood your comments Phat. I too think we should package Spriggs up with a draft pick and go fishing in the trade period. The only reason I say that is because I think that we have so many guys of similar ages in the midfield I simply don't see him being a permanent fixture and he gun forward would just top up our list nicely at this stage. I think Spriggs provides excellent depth to our list and his best years of footy are still ahead of him. If a suitable trade couldn't be organised then I would DEFINATELY retain him. Good sides MUST have depth. look no further than clubs like Rich, WB, Adel, Haw, even Coll. If they are missing a few big names then they are really ordinary. Conversely that's why your Bris, Port's, Ess and StK's are so good

Give him a break!~

Look i know how you all feel about spriggs but just look at how he has been playing these past few weeks. He has never been a player to kick many goals a season but the last few weeks its been like 2-3 goals a match. If some other player did that then everyone would think they have earned their right to be in the senior side but no not spriggs. No one will give him a fair go. I think we should give him atleast one game to prove that he is turning it all around and becoming a good player. I understand that if he came in this week to play and he had a s%#t game then you could say he should be traded but just give him a chance and you'll see what i see.

He was shocking in the VFL on the weekend. Would struggle to get a game for Hawthorn at the moment.
