Correct me if I am wrong, but is this week Spud's 50th game as coach? (22+22+3+3?)

While this is not quite in the same stratosphere as Sheedy's 500th with Essendon, by our own standards and recent history, it is quite remarkable.

Also consider, if Spud coaches at least 1 final this year, that will make him our longest serving coach since Tom Hafey! By my reckoning, Northey coached us for 69 games (22+22+22+3) - Spud will reach this in Round 22 this year.

While this is all positive, it still nonetheless is an indictment on our club.

i believe we are on a winner with spud.down to earth, says what he thinks[sometimes that can bite back] but more importantly he has the respect, from the players and supporters.
who knows maybe in 20yrs time the football world will be honouring a great coach as kevin sheedy is at present.
cheers!

I think Spud is great. And I think our Coaching Stuff are doing a Marvellous job. But you need new blood and fresh ideas constantly. I just think at the end of last year that we could of put on another assistant on. Someone out of a side that has recent success in the mould of Crocker. Someone who could give a different angle on how our club is going.

If it ain't broke don't fix it

This is the third year for these guys together. Someone out of Essendon would have been nice. John Barnes maybe. I know your are all laughing know but we needed a ruck coach and he could have given us an insight into how the bombers prepare For matches ETC...... You have to be one step ahead of everyone else.

OR YOU CAN COPY SOMEONE ELSE............

Spud is such a nice bloke, I've got a photo with him with his arm around me and a stubbie in the other one, lol. He's a great bloke and he has done the Tigers proud so far.

Keep it up Danny!

Coaches have to be a fit with the culture of the place. This is where we f*cked up with Walls and Gieshchen. Esp Walls.

Didn't fit the culture of the club.

Whether by good luck or good management, we've got Spud and his in your face, heart on your sleeve attitude suits us right down to the ground.
