You can't argue with sales figures. Apple sells more machines than anyone else.

Wrong. More spruiking.

PCs easily outnumber Mac's at home/work (re: Joel's post above).

Face it, Macs are nothing but useless yuppie toys. Plus, if Mac's are so great, why do they sell copies of Virtual PC :D

Apple sells more branded machines than any other company. It's not their fault that dodgy two-bit, backyard operations spit out PC's at the rate of knots.

Far from being useless, I happen to work in an industry dominated by the Mac platform.

By the way, Microsoft make Virtual PC - surely it's not above you to figure out why.

Come on Zeke, that's probably got something to with the fact that they only make Apples, and have no one else making them. Whereas, companies like IBM and HP, have to compete against everything from a small computer shop, up until each other.

Surely you'd agree that it is purely smart marketing and regulation on Apple's behlaf?

Right.

Windows is better than OS X, then.
Oh, and Britney Spears is a better musician than the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra.
The Pentium is better than the G5.
Holden make better cars than Ferrari.

Can't argue with sales figures!

What a stupid argument.

I have Lavasoft Adaware for removing spy/adware and for ages it's been good to me but now I'm getting pop-ups about five minutes after logging on and this Noadware program seems to have located the source, but I'm not sure. The reason is, I have to bloody pay for the program to remove the files.

What other programs are free and good for getting rid of this stuff? Anybody who knows a bit about spy/adware and could answer some questions of mine would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Because theres no software for a MAC.

Duh.

Even though you may be a tryhard graphic designer, all the real work gets done on PC's.

Got a Pippin yet? :D

Silly to make absolute statements, isn't it. Here's a few more.

OSX has bugger all market share compared to XP

OSX has bugger all decent software compared to XP

OSX will not survive.

Leigh,

I am using PestPatrol. It is fantastic, and will remove every piece of spyware/adware/virus/worm/trojan/annoyance/ANSI bomb/AOLpest/dialer/firewall killer/hostile java or active x compt/mailbomb/numker/password capturer/portscanner/probe tool ..... I won't go on......

You can buy it or download a 'trial version' using something like Kazaa, if you're into that sort of thing ;)

I beg to differ young man, studios are starting to make the shift towards powerful multimedia PCs. Though traditional print studios have stuck with Mac all along.

;)

Stop being such a an ambassador for apple and the design industry Zeke, we already have enough.

I use both and have no real issue with either. I must say though a G5 looks nicer to the eye than your avg black dell machine.

I will lend myself to whatever cause I see fit. I too, have used both simultaneously in a working environment, and the Mac does it better.

The G5 is a nice machine, I'm sitting in front of one now!

Obviously. It will be superceded by the next MacOS version. You're no rocket scientist.
Prolly as close to one as you'll ever meet. One of my physics mates went to work at JPL.

Here's a rocket-scientist-observation for ya:

Macs blow really hard.
