The best Manchester United site on the web is the one run by the people that do the Red Issue fanzine. You can find the site at www.redissue.co.uk If you've ever seen a copy of Red Issue, you'll know what to expect. But if not, not only will you find the best bits of the newspaper reports, but you'll read all the insider gossip.

R,W, and B,

Oh dear.....not Leeds.....after the real footy season is over, we're going to have to sit down and I'm going to have to chat to you about this....oh God....Leeds....ewwwww.

Hey CJ that 1-1 draw with Ipswich (an old favourite of mine)

was that a practice match or something ?

The only recent ManU results I am aware of is that they lost the Charity Shield and comfortably beat Newcastle in the season opener last week.

Maybe it was a mid-week game that I haven't noticed ?

BSA

Well, it's the start of the Premier League and they usually pack in several matches in the opening weeks of the season. So the game vs Ipswich wasn't a practice game or anything. The pre-Christmas and Easter periods usually have a high number of fixtures as well. As for the Charity Shield, United have now lost three of them in a row...a record!

Rooboy 96

Yeah, whatever....I don't think anyone would've lost any sleep wondering who I was referring to. Sheesh.

NO problem BSA,

I'll keep on posting the results here when they play. Hopefully, that should piss all the Leeds, Chelsea, Liverpool etc fans off. HAHAHA.

Since this seems to have turned into a soccer thread, just thought I would give you the Champions League draw released today:

Group A: Real Madrid, Sporting Lisbon, Bayer Leverkusen, Spartak Moscow.
Group B: Lazio, Arsenal, Sparta Prague, Shakhtar Donetsk.
Group C: Valencia, Lyon, Olympiakos, Heerenveen.
Group D: Monaco, Galatasaray, Rangers, Sturm Graz.
Group E: Juventus, Deportivo La Coruna, Panathinaikos, Hamburg.
Group F: Bayern Munich, PSG, Rosenburg, Helsinborgs.
Group G: Manchester United, PSV Eindhoven, Dinamo Kiev, Anderlecht.
Group H: Barcelona, AC Milan, Leeds United, Besiktas.

Olympiakos (my beloved team!!) to at least get to the second phase, and Panathinaikos also has a good chance.

Leeds has got a bloody difficult group and has to travel to Turkey again (remember last time!!!)

Man United's draw is quite competitive. Wouldn't be suprised if they don't do as well as everyone expects.

Real Madrid has the championship wrapped up with Figo.

CHEALSEA to go all the way in the premiership race.

And to Sandie- if its 1 post per thread that counts, Dan24 has written in 800 odd topics- with an average of about 67 posts per thread relating to the "H&A 4 premiers" debate. This means his postings record should more appropriately read : 53,600 posts
I've only been on this forum for a couple of weeks, but wouldn't doubt it for a second!!!

You can all just call me Royalty, only kidding, RBW is cool.

Anyway whats wrong with Leeds, I dont like to follow a team completely full of egos like Man U (Or Essendon, Carlton, Collingwood and every other team except North) and Leeds have the added bonus of having Aussie players.
I will always have a soft spot for Man U though, having gone to the games last year.
I have never been to an event with such atmosphere, even the 96 and 98 Grand Finals werent as good in that way.

Okay, things that are wrong with Leeds.

1. Racist fans.
2. A history of cheating.
3. Four of their players up on charges on bashing up an Asian student.
4. Don Revie era Leeds....if Brazil 1970 turned soccer into the beautiful game, then those Leeds sides did the exact opposite.
5. David Batty
6. They hate Manchester United more than they love their own team.
7. They think it's witty to sing during a minutes silence.
8. Harry Kewell is a prat.
9. So is Mark Viduka for that matter.
10. Did I mention Leeds National Front?
11. Every other set of fans chants out to Leeds, "Sheepshaggers! Sheepshaggers!" so they can't all be wrong, can they?
12. As the old t-shirt with Gordon Strachan and a couple of other Leeds players looking shocked at the behaviour of Leeds fans said, "Leeds fans, even your players are ashamed of you".

That's a dozen quick reasons that I can think of.

Cheers
