Doesn't seem to be as much emphasis on the NAB cup this year compared to last, what with 6 of our best 10 or so players not playing in this game(s). Not complaining too much though, should mean that they're better prepared for the season proper.

We weren't full-strength last year in round 1 of the NAB last year, either.
OTOH we missed about 5 of our best 10 in the first week, then swapped for the other 5 the other week.

Round 3 we were getting pretty serious.

The NAB cup was very important from a marketing perspective last year.

This year we have last year's season proper as adequate encouragement, I think.

Like everyone, looking forward mostly to seeing people we haven't seen before (in the premiership season, anyway). Especially ones that have been in the system a few years, like Davis and Long.

Look forward to seeing Long - Saw him play a half for Bendigo against Box Hill Hawks in June 2010 - couple of bad mistakes in the first quarter - then didn't re-appear after half time. From memory he was a smooth mover.
