We need to try Trav in specific defensive roles. His defensive stuff is immense. Either play him on a small or medium forward, or as a tagger.Bring Doogs in, let Trav keep building at VFL level. Butler looks sharp if we need a small forward.
I have a soft spot for Doogs. And I think he's played a lot more within his limitations in recent years, which means less brain fades. He's a good tall defender. More reliable than Camma who is yet to convince me as a forward or back (like his effort, just not convinced he makes it).Yeah, think we have to.
Doesnt fill me which much excitement though
Doogs that is.

I remembered his time trail results.Athletic doesnt necessarily mean aerobic.
Apparent shoulder injury.is banfield ok?
I like Trav, but his defensive ability in transition for nearly the first half that I saw looked fairly lackluster and relaxed. He didn’t seem to fazed taking on a player in handover or transitionReally worried about Travaglia. 1 handball from a dropped mark so far only, only early but would like to have seen more in this game/ overall as a player.
Back-pocket in the Afl team?Travaglia was epic a few moments ago defensively.
I’d have him over Carroll.Back-pocket in the Afl team?
We need one atm
He was likened to Jarryn Geary by Shifter Sheehan the night of the 2024 draft.Back-pocket in the Afl team?

Having him doing a run with role could be the best chance to play AFL footy at the moment, has the endurance and as you mentioned the defensive effort is really strong. Could even play a defensive forward role on some of the dangerous half backs, can see him matching up well on Whitfield/Clark types. We need to try Trav in specific defensive roles. Not many posessions & no goalsHow was Butler looking?
No disrespect to Geary but hope an early 1st rnd pick is better than a good back pocketHe was likened to Jarryn Geary by Shifter Sheehan the night of the 2024 draft.
Not wrong! No disrespect to Geary but hope an early 1st rnd pick is better than a good back pocket
I’d say it should be simpleI cannot understand the use of Travaglia yet...I'm sure there is a plan however in U18s VIC team he teamed up epically in the backline with another blonde haired star....Tauru.
We currently lack a scrappy back pocket small defender. We are also playing a poor kicking back flanker in Carroll. Pair Trav up with Tauru, get the blonde haired band back together out of the backline.
Let Trav pinch hit in the midfield more and more over time. His best footy is in a position of need and for the first time in St Kilda's history, were going OK at transitioning back flankers into midfielders over time.
Play Trav back.
He can't warrant 50% on ball yet, however if he jags 80/20 this year, and increases year on year or with clear growth.I’d say it should be simple
50 % on ball
50 % half back
Alternative quarters or halves. Keep consistant imo.
It’s the saints vfl team. The team is there for development. His form last year warranted it. So he gets first shout this year.He can't warrant 50% on ball yet, however if he jags 80/20 this year, and increases year on year or with clear growth.
Exactly the same plan for Fincher.
Both have more trajectory than Carroll, who currently may very well be the worst "good kick" I've seen since Billings. He nearly missed his own foot last week. Give me these boys in the team any day.
