The problem with St Pats Day in Australia is 90% of people are not Irish. Leae the celebration to those who are Irish or are from Irish heritage.
 
If you're talking Irish heritage, around 55-60% of Melbourne would count as Irish. I think as of last census, around 20-30% claimed Irish heritage across the nation, but heaps of people who claim 'Australian' would be of Irish heritage.

But really, its just a pissup and a bit of fun, everyone should be welcome to join in!

Hey, on Saint Patrick's Day everyone can be a little bit Irish for the day. They even celebrate the day in South Korea. :D
