Grounds that people go on about as being cathedrals or special generally arent.

I've been to Anfield a number of times, been to Old Trafford a number of times. Neither are that special. Both are at the lower end of grounds that I would consider good football grounds. Both have shitty atmospheres more often than not.

Don't really see much difference between an old stadium rebuilt stand by stand or a new stadium to be honest. Both Spurs and Liverpool are in the same place so pre match pubs/routines etc arent effected too much.
Well said. Sat in anfield a few times and one of the side stands was definitely in need of serious work. I'm only roughly 180cm and I couldn't fit my legs anywhere without kicking kneeing rhe kid in front of me. Bloke next to me was sitting with his legs facing the opposite way to his body just to fit. Would hate to imagine someone Peter Crouch's size trying to get a seat at an old stadium WHL is the same and so is Stamford Bridge. The old die hards don't mind that but it's not a great look and the clubs know that.

At least spurs and Liverpool are lucky enough to have room to either expand or build next door. Is that what Chelsea is planning on doing now too? Most the memories of the old grounds is the trip down there and the shops and pubs on the way. For us that doesn't change moving closer to the station and white hart lane

That would be the old main stand which has been replaced. Centenary stand is pretty good, only 20 years old and the new Kop was built in the early 90's. Once the Anfield rd end is replaced Anfield will be a modern stadium with excellent facilities.

Anfield road was ok. Yeah the old stand opposite the benches I thinking was? Reminded me of the stands at Waverley

That stand had wooden seats and was 100 years old. It was time for an upgrade :)

Chelsea ground will be pulled down and a new stadium will take its place.

You lie. It's being replaced by the worlds largest waste basket ;)

Such a weird design. I think the architect was smoking a doobie at the time.

Tell me that pole is being removed from that last bay of seats?

Makes a huge difference. Looks a proper stadium now!

Ideally we would like to replace the centenary stand with a replica of the new main stand after replacing the Anfield Rd end. That would bring capacity to nearly 70k but requires massive investment in new infrastructure for transport. That's only going to happen if Everton decide to upgrade / replace Goodison park which seems unlikely.

Annie Rd end is next but I think is on hold for a few years while we pay off the new Main Stand. I dont think we will see changes to the Centenary stand as there is no room on that side I believe.

What's with the Brits and having the stadiums roof slope down like that!! It has a real Centre Court feel about it sitting up the back. Have it nice and flat, I would rather see out over the suburbs than have half my vision occupied by a dark roof.
It's done of purpose like that to keep all the noise and atmosphere filtering down onto the pitch.

Was looking of information/post regarding Camp Nou and its redevelopment. Didn't find any so here it is:
Definitely one of the most ambitious stadium renovation, recently has been a good stadium but with open areas, hardly representative of a team like FC Barcelona's :

Expected to be completed in time for the 2021 Season, with an expected stadium name sponsorship bringing in 200 million Euros. The proposal for a new Camp Nou plans will encompass three main areas: the new Camp Nou football stadium, a new Palau Blaugrana arena with room for 10,000 spectators and the Espai Barça (Barça Space.) The smart thing is, games will still be played at Camp Nou during this time, with a phase by phase plan to enable fans to still attend matches

It is really impressive seeing the video, will be a mecca for football.
