The likelihood is that it will be ready for some time in September. Most likely we will start with three, maybe four away games

Sounds like the pressure is on to get it finished in time.

Well they aren’t working on it around the clock so it can’t be behind schedule otherwise they no doubt would be. There is no work done on Sunday’s for example

What's the latest you think it would need to be ready? Presumably they won't let you start the season with 10 away games (just as an example).
Reportedly negotiating with PL Boss Scudemore that if it’s not ready after the international break in early September that we may be lay a couple of games at Wembley then move in. Apparently it is his call and his alone.

You'll have the same schedule as we did at the start of 16/17. First game away, second match changed to an away game, 3rd game away and then the international break. You might have to play that 4th game at Wembley but should be right for the next home game 2 weeks later one would imagine.

I can't imagine anyone would be too pleased with a Premier League team having to play home games at two different stadiums within the same season, especially if only one or two games were to be played at one of the stadiums.

Why is Roman Abramovich denied a UK VISA? The guy owns and runs a major football club there.
Political.
Related to a crackdown after the poisoning and subsequent expulsion of Russian diplomats, and ties in with reforms from a couple of years ago.

But Theresa May’s official spokesman said: “The prime minister has been absolutely clear that our argument is not with the Russian people, our dispute is with the Russian government.”

The changes introduced in 2015 mean that Abramovich will face tougher standards when reapplying for his new tier 1 visa, which he will have to do from outside the UK, probably in Russia.

Applications can be rejected if officials believe the applicant is not in control of funds, money has been obtained unlawfully, or the origin of funds means granting a visa will not be conducive to the public good.

There has been an 84% fall in the number of investor visa applications since the reforms were introduced.

There is no suggestion that Abramovich has been involved in any wrongdoing.

Abramovich, who was last seen publicly at a court hearing in Switzerland on Friday, missed Chelsea’s FA Cup final victory over Manchester United at Wembley on Saturday. The Saratov-born businessman has owned the club since 2003.

Tier 1 visas are thought to be held by about 700 wealthy Russians.

“We are currently taking another look at how the route operates and are undertaking further checks on investors who came to the UK through this route before the reforms were introduced,” a Downing Street spokesman said.

No 10 also confirmed additional checks had been taking place at private airfields after the Salisbury attack in March.

Abramovich’s visa is thought to have expired in April while he was out of the country and he has not tried to enter Britain since. His new application would have to be made from abroad, which means he will be subject to slightly more rigorous criteria than if he applied from within the UK.

Someone who knows Abramovich told the Guardian on Sunday that he had not been denied a visa but it was taking longer than usual to renew, and it was unclear why. A representative for Abramovich declined to comment, calling it a personal matter.

Russian officials complained on Monday that the UK was wielding the issuance or denial of visas as a weapon in the growing political standoff between Moscow and London.

Think I read somewhere earlier tonight that since being granted Israeli citizenship (which allows very short travel to the UK without a Visa, but no working)i that he's withdrawn his application for an Investor Visa.

Makes some sense that if he can't work in the UK then why invest in a new stadium?

It's probably a bit of brinkmanship that will sort itself out, but pretty worrying times for Chelsea.

A lot of uncertainty of the owner, manager, stadium and most of the better players.

Yeah, i dunno buddy i just think its all a bit of brinkmanship.
No question. Toys are out of the cot hoping it’ll get the home office to give him a visa.
I just don’t know how the stadium will convince them, it does give British citizens work to build it of course but ultimately only Chelsea and Roman profit from it.

Can quiet easily see the home office shrugging their shoulders and not budging.

I’m not your buddy, guy ;)
until brexit is finalised most UK building sites are not giving many Brits work
maybe not directly but would definitely give work to all the companies that supply the raw materials.

Going to love the single tier stand. Looks imposing.
For scale reference, you can walk under the stand where the trays come out as that gap is at least 3m.
