Interesting, i would have said Sidebottom comfortably and i'm a fan of Duncan.
More proven player, close to a norm smith and Copeland, Has shown he can deal with a tag(Was tagged a fair few times on the wing last year) and better stats.

We could have Prime Swan vs 38 Year Old Vickery and Vickery would win on this board mate, you'll rarely, if ever see a pies player leading the vote.
Yes it's all a conspiracy.
Sidebottom had a good year a couple of years ago but has been quite underwhelming otherwise. This is maybe why people vote against him.
Had a quick look at the last five pages of Polls. There were 11 threads comparing a Collingwood player to an opposition player. The Collingwood player won 8/11 times (though I thought Shaun Atley would have been a sure thing over Paul Seedsman if he wasn't a BF memeWe could have Prime Swan vs 38 Year Old Vickery and Vickery would win on this board mate, you'll rarely, if ever see a pies player leading the vote.
). Take off the tinfoil, mate.Really Collingwood fans? Sidebottom's got Duncan "well covered" and you struggle to think of anything Duncan does better?
First of all Duncan's clearly a better mark and is very good for a midfielder (10 contested marks to 5 for the season). He's also a much better kick at goal (19.8 this year compared to 11.14). Duncan's also one of the better long kicks in the game and clearly superior to Sidebottom in this facet.
Of course Sidebottom's done more over his career due to being in the system a year longer and having about 30 more games. But right now there wouldn't be a whole lot in it with both players being key men for their respective sides in pretty similar roles, despite playing those roles very differently. Your under-rating of Duncan is particularly surprising since he was best on ground against Collingwood early in the year and was the main reason we were able to get over the line. By my count the AFLCA votes for this year are 33-28 in Sidebottom's favour (there was 1 round which didn't have the Collingwood or Geelong votes on the AFLCA website) with Sidebottom getting more big vote games but Duncan polling more often with 1-5 vote games.
So I can understand Collingwood fans preferring Sidebottom slightly but it's not like there's much in it.
Fair call outs, and I do remember Duncan having a good game against us. Goalkicking - I'll give you that, our whole team is quite poor in that regard so it's no surprise he's better there. With contested marks though, when you're looking at one player who has 0.6 and the other with 0.3, that's not exactly something that I'd use to separate the two. Duncan is also quite a bit taller also, so no surprise he gets the odd contested mark here and there.
It's not really about contested marking but that just shows that he's the better player in that area. It's more important for things like the get out kick down the line. If you need a guy to compete in the air against one or two opponents I'd clearly prefer that to be Duncan than Sidebottom. Of course that's partly based on him being taller but it's still true that he's better in the air which is a nice bonus to have.
