I still love watching that video. Hill just EXPLODES out of the blocks, that's what I like seeing and look forward to seeing that coming off the back of a pack with the ball in his hands.

I'm with NorthBhoyon a bit on this, maybe someone who has seen a bit of him can elaborate.

he's been touted for his speed but he's not a typical speedster like a woczinski (sp?), he seems to lope a bit. Not explosive out of the blocks, maybe it's deceiving speed, I've only seen him live twice and they were horror outings so it was difficult to tell.

He thinks quickly enough.
Are you kidding? He's got mad acceleration

Holds the draft camp record for the 20m sprint so not surprising.

No doubt Hill is quick but I don't know where you got the above from. This is from the AFL web site. The record is held by Danyle Pearce and Ash Smith who is now with West Coast was quicker than Hill.

20-METRE SPRINT
A straight out 20-metre sprint test, with the best time recorded from three attempts.
1 – Ashley Smith (Dandenong Stingrays, VIC – small/medium midfielder) – 2.80 seconds – Just missed out on the record held by Port Adelaide's Danyle Pearce (2.79 sec)
2 – Jack Watts – (Sandringham Dragons, VIC – tall forward) – 2.82
3 – Stephen Hill (West Perth, WA – small/medium midfielder) – 2.83
4 – Nick Naitanui (Swan Districts, WA – ruckman) – 2.86
5 – Tom Swift (Claremont, WA – medium midfielder) – 2.89

Surely you jest? And Zookeeper as a speedster??? WTF?

maybe it's deceiving speed

Which is different to actual speed how exactly?? Surely speed is just speed (as except for the snorting sort).

I've only seen him live twice

Perhaps this is the reason for our difference of opinion. Go see him play some more.

Well I'm glad you agree he is quick at something. 'Though, personally, I reckon he's just quick at everything....

Great work DE

DE posts a serious video??!!? WTF?? And it is a great video too DE - keep it up (and BTW, great to see you've already beaten your record of most weeks into a season without a red card)!!

Hadn't seen that, I guess he is quick out of the blocks. Good.

Good?? GOOD??? That's the best adjective you've got for Hilly's speed? Did you ghost-write Malaxos' WAFL reports for him?

AFAIK He holds the record for agility, not 20m sprints

edit* beat me to it Dizzy

Speed is one thing.
Delivering lace out passes to the opposition on numerous occasions is another.

That boy is a jet.:thumbsu:

Agreed, I certainly wasn't suggestng Ash Smith is near as good as Stephen Hill. His kicking to the opposition did make one grimace, but a least he was playing consistent footy. :D

Was just correcting the "facts", and as has been pointed out Hill does hold the draft camp agility record, so that combined with speed can make for an elusive player. Ash Smith was quicker tho.;)

Like I said, he doesn't look particularly quick on the telly, thats why the post. I live in Sydney so I don't get much of a chance to see the team. Isaw Essondon and Collingwood in melb last year.

On those performances, Good is high praise indeed.
