I can say quite confidently that Johnson will not learn anything going back to the two's. Despite this, I think he may actually be dropped as Bomber needs to show a firm hand on the back of a couple of poor weeks.

When senior listed players go back to the two's Leigh Tudor has very clear instructions on where to play them / for how long etc etc. It's a great frustration for VFL players who get thrown all over the ground so that Bomber's instructions get followed.

What's my point ? A bloke like Steve Johnson won't learn to chase any harder / he won't learn to tackle any harder playing in the two's.

If I was Bomber I'd still drop him - after all, it's round 4. It's more about teaching him a lesson and the rest of the club. The bloke seems like a real dipstick and a few belts around the ears would propably do just as much good.

Drop him and let's move on.

Are you able to provide more details buddy?

Along with the thread Jubs has linked up, a few more observations made by some folk (BJ and FortuneFaded to be precise) down at CC:

Mecurial as always. Terrible first quarter as he played pretty much the same as he had been the previous two weeks. Needs to take his first option far more than he does. There’s a time for magic and theres a time for percentage footy. Johnson needs to learn the difference

SJ kicked 5 but they were pretty lazy goals really. 4 of them were in a row in the second and he got consecutive (charity) goals for being dumped after kicking one 15m out. He didn't lead, he didn't chase, he just expected it to be kicked long to him in a contest and he would try to wrestle and knock the ball to his advantage at ground level. Once Gibson moved onto him midway through the third he barely touched the footy and Gibson cut everything off and rebounded well for Tassie. He needs to do more to be recalled IMO.

Not suggesting it's to be taken as gospel (given the recent "hate-itude" toward Dog, which might cloud some thoughts), but the comments, coupled with the logic/message we send in selecting him just one week later, is enough to suggest to me Dog needn't pull on the AFL guernsey for at least another week.

Won't play this week - and that's from a bloke out of the coaches box !!!
Bomber told him - quote "a spell for a couple of weeks to find some touch" and that was relayed straight to coaches in the vfl who play these senior list players under strict instructions.

By the sounds of it he'll have another week in the VFL. He should play up the ground and in the midfield though. After all, it's fitness and touch that he's lacking.
